"We have just checked out of this beautiful hotel and couldn't have asked for a more perfect stay! The staff are so friendly and can't do enough for you. The hotel itself is spotlessly clean and has everything you need, the conjoined pub 'The Crows Nest' next door serves a fabulous menu and all the locals are very chatty and always so friendly. We were sad to check out as we had such a wonderful two days but would love to return in the future!"

"What can I say about this hotel that hasn’t already been said? It was simply amazing. We took a break from our family heritage tour and headed north of Galway to stay at The Lodge at Ashford Castle—and I’m so glad we did. One of the highlights was the Hawk Walk, offered by Ireland’s School of Falconry right on the property. My husband loved it. The hotel offers other experiences as well, and there are 350 acres of trails to explore. They even provide a trail map so you can plan your route. The estate includes lakes and streams for fishing and boating, and the views from the Lodge are breathtaking. Although we stayed at the Lodge, which is a fraction of the cost of Ashford Castle, we were treated as full guests of the entire estate. We had access to everything the castle offers. The service was excellent—professional and warm. Paul at the Lodge handled everything from luggage to transportation around the estate, always with a smile. Clarissa at the front desk and Vorchek at breakfast were also wonderful. Our room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the pillows were amazing. My only suggestion: consider adding a door between the kitchen and dining room to reduce noise. It was loud and we asked to be moved and we were accommodated. I'm so glad we were because the meal was a solid 10. Thank you to the chef and kitchen team. This hotel was a highlight of our trip. "This place was mostly great! The spa was lovely, food was good, environment is pretty. The beds were comfortable and the features of the room all worked well. The two issues were the heat -- it was very warm even after I turned off the radiator -- and the noise. The walls are thin, and I could definitely hear the people nextdoor very easily. I sleep with white noise, so it wasn't a huge deal, but nonetheless a bit of a problem."

"Our host greeted us upon arrival and did a thorough walk through with us to show us around and how to operate everything. The home heats with wood stoves and a boiler so she helped get everything started and warmed up. The bedrooms suited us perfectly - we had 4 adults and 5 kids age 10-15 and the set up worked great. The home is very private but easy to find. "

"Ashford Castle was the best hotel that I have ever visited. The staff is delightful and facilities exceptional. We enjoyed a private Hawk Walk lead by Mel. She was terrific. We played 9 holes and had the course to ourselves. The grounds are breathtaking. The room that we stayed in thru Hotels.com was 420. What a beautiful room with lots of light. It was just amazing. It was a bit of heaven! You must visit. "
