"Good location, just 50m or so from the Quay front, great staff allround, but room was ok, but adequate only, for price charged. Dog friendly, which was critical for us, but £10 surcharge charged. Lack of hotel parking wasn't too much of an issue as large multistorey within c.400m, but does add any £10 cost to the visit"

"We love this place, very comfortable. Food is amazing, however we did find our breakfast a little cold at times. Our room was very cosy but maybe could do with a deep clean in the bathroom. There was a drain odour, but that could havd been the toilet brush that was absolutely rank. Not what you expect to see when stepping out of the shower. We really had a great relax. Many thanks"

"We had a lovely stay here. So Christmassy but even other times of year so cosy felt homely. Reception was very welcoming room was decorated lovely and really felt like a retreat away from it all. Fires and Christmas trees . We ate in the restaurant and all the food was hot and delicious. Location was very central for village visits and walks it was tough to choose whether to go out for walks or just stay in the hotel and relax. We are already planning our next trip back"

"It’s rare to visit an establishment where there are so many excellent staff. We visited the Countryman on Boxing Day and booked a Christmas meal and a double room. The food was wonderful, the service was excellent. The room was very comfortable. I cannot praise everyone enough. If you visit Dorchester, this IS the place to stay. "Firstly we have stayed here before and had a wonderful experience. The property is old and consequently does not have that modern minimalistic feel to it. I think the beds could do with replacing as you can feel the springs through the mattress topper. The stairs are a challenge on par with climbing Snowden. So why did we come back?
