The Lodge on Caribou Lake is a spacious 3 bedroom, 2 bath log cabin that can sleep up to 10 people. Enjoy the open kitchen, dining room, and living room, boasting large wooden beams that give it a lodge feel. Take advantage of the fully equipped kitchen and large dining room table as well as a roomy island with 4 stools. For the cooler months, enjoy the warmth of the wood fireplace.
The cabin has plenty of options for outdoor eating/seating with 3 decks---two that offer a table and umbrella and another deck with two adirondack chairs. All of the decks have a view of Caribou Lake.
This beautiful cabin is located on a large lot, on a beautiful and clean 720 acre inland lake, where you can enjoy swimming, fishing, canoe/kayaking, and gorgeous sunsets. The public boat landing is less than 5 minutes from the cabin. Don't forget your fishing poles---the lake has walleye, smallmouth bass, northern pike, bluegill, black crappie and many more. Use our canoe and single and tandem kayaks to explore the serene and beautiful Caribou Lake.
If you are looking for a place to party, be loud, and jet ski, this is not the place for you.
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!!! If you love the outdoors, you've come to the right place! During the winter months, you can enjoy the best downhill skiing in the Midwest at Lutsen Mountain with an 8-passenger gondola and 4 mountains. They enjoy an average of 10 feet of snow annually. The area is also a prime location for snowmobiling, cross country skiing, and snowshoeing, with groomed trails within a mile of the cabin. For cross-country skiers, check out the Norpine Trail Association system.
The beautiful views of the majestic Lake Superior are a short 5-minute drive. If you want to experience some north shore culture, Grand Marais, MN, which is known for its art, food, and gorgeous views, is only 25 minutes from the cabin. Do you want to get some exercise during your trip to the north shore? It's easy to do with the 310-mile Superior Hiking Trail and numerous state parks in the area, offering the best hiking in the midwest, with numerous, picturesque waterfalls. If biking is your thing, ride along Lake Superior on the Gitchi Gami trail, or enjoy mountain biking on several trails, including Lutsen Mountain and Jackpot Trail. Finally, don't miss an opportunity to play a round of golf at the beautiful, 27-hole Superior National Golf Course, which has signature holes alongside the Poplar River.
If you are heading to the north shore to relax, you can stay indoors and enjoy the crackling fire, as well as the puzzles, books, and board games provided for our guests' enjoyment.
Although we love animals, we do not allow pets.
Note: We rent a cottage on the property to a resident of Lutsen. It is approximately 500 feet from the cabin. Our renter has two beautiful dogs that are sometimes at the cottage with him.
Note: 4WD/AWD is highly recommended once the snow starts falling.
