Brand new townhouse will meet your needs but high fees and no personality
This host requires that you sign an additional rental contract outside of the Vrbo agreement. This requirement contributed to a lower overall score.
The townhouse was spotless when we arrived and everything inside is brand new. The host is very responsive and provides linens, toiletries, towels, and everything needed for our first night or two. The kitchen was well stocked with new plates, utensils, etc. and there is a Keurig with coffee. The neighborhood will be much more walkable once construction is finished but there is an ice cream stand close by and Walmart is a few minutes away along with other chain retail stores. You are just minutes from Luray and it’s easy to access Skyline Drive.
The bad. “Hi, you are being recorded.” The host owns a pair of brand new townhomes side by side in a new neighborhood and has a camera system that is constantly recording and constantly alarming “Hi, you are being recorded.” The camera system in the adjacent unit contributed to the lower score once I learned that the host owns both units. It’s very creepy, and constant.
It feels as though it was rushed into being a rental as there are no curtains or towel bars, and the only thing on the walls is AI Generated nonsensical art (snow capped mountains that look like the Rockies with the word “Shenandoah” above it.) This place served its purpose for a trip to the National Park and Luray but was expensive for the value with a $185 host fee and $85 Vrbo fee!
