Very disappointed in the service at the Luoyang Hyatt. I understood that the hotel is relatively new, but the honeymoon is over. There’s simply no excuse for poor service.
The hotel occupies the higher floors of an office building. However, there is little branding on the building except at the entrance to know that there is a Hyatt hotel. The taxi driver who picked us up at the train station didn’t even know there was a hotel there despite giving him the address in Chinese. The entrance to the hotel is down a service road off the main drag. However, it seems that the hotel wants to discourage taxis from pulling into the entrance as parking cones are placed to block the entrance.
Any time we needed a taxi during our stay, we were told we could hail one from the street. Most hotels would call a taxi if one is needed. But not Hyatt Luoyang. Seems the staff at the front desk really didn’t want to be bothered. Their replies to questions were always inadequate.
When we left the hotel at the end of our stay, I was trying to hail a taxi in the pouring rain while my wife waited with two large suitcases and a carry-on. Thanks for the help Hyatt Luoyang.
In other areas, the cafe was decent enough although it was only open for breakfast. No other restaurants on site.
The room itself was modern and comfortable.
The environs not so good.
At the end of the day, the service mentality does not exist. Poor training or management.
