Casa Lumnezia is a unique family-friendly and eco-design roof apartment (112 m2) with 3 fully-equipped bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The house has superb 360° panoramas and is overlooking Vignogn's authentic and peaceful mountain village & mountain peaks. A ski slope stops in front of our house. The ski lifts are only 2 km away and easy-reachable by bus or car. In summer, the peaceful and kids-friendly mountain lake 'Davos Muntz' is within walking distance (1 km) from the apartment.

Panoramic and bright apartment situated in the idyllic mountain village Vignogn. It has 3 bathrooms with toilet and 3 bedrooms (2 bedrooms with double bed + one bedroom with 2 bunk beds). The eco-design appartment can house up to 8 persons. It has an open, modern and well-furnished kitchen with all contemporary functionalities. It is a perfect hideaway for families, slow travelers or couples with a passion for authentic (relaxing and/or active) holidays. The house and its surrounding offer beauty and variety during all seasons, including winter and summer. Interior and terraces are furnished with timeless elegance, top functionalities and eye for details. It is classified by the official Swiss Tourism Federation with 4 **** Superior.

Casa Lumnezia is fully integrated in the local environment and a proofpoint of sustainable mountain architecture. The apartment has a ventilation system (comfort ventilation) with heat recovery, heat pumps and highly insulated building walls. There is an optimal natural light from morning to evening with an incomparable view on the authentic and protected village of Vignogn, the Val Lumnezia valley and the mountains.

Our apartment is located in Vignogn, nearby Vella, which is the administrative center of Val Lumnezia ("Valley of the Light"). Val Lumnezia is part of the Surselva region, which belongs to the Kanton of Graubunden.

Val Lumnezia is one of the most beautiful -though luckily touristically unknown- valleys of the Swiss Alps. Due to the north-south positioning, the valley is known for its soft and sunny (blue sky) climate. The valley is less touristic than other Swiss mountain areas as it lacks transit traffic. The local Swiss call it often the area for "small but exquisite tourism".

The local population in general speaks fluently German and even English / French or Italian.

One of the oldest Swiss city Chur is within 40 minutes drive, Zurich within 1 hour 20 minutes and Basel within 2 hours drive.

Our apartment is about 1 hour 20 minutes from Zurich and 2 hours drive from Basel.

Vignogn, Val Lumnezia is easily reachable by airplane (Basel / Zurich), car or public transport (train, bus). Two minutes away from the apartment is a small buss stop with major connections to Ilanz/Chur.

IMPORTANT CASA LUMNEZIA HOUSE RULES:

We expect that our guests respect the environment, our neighbors and property. Vignogn is an authentic and peaceful mountain village.

The house is made with delicate materials. Therefore, a mandatory deposit of 500 EUR might be requested, which will be reimbursed within 1 week after departure (if no damage and if the house is left in a decent clean state -- additional cleaning and check up is done by an external cleaning company each time a guest stays with us).


CASA LUMNEZIA – EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW IN ADVANCE

1) Heating and ventilation: The house comes with the latest mini-energetic standards including automatic ventilation and heating at comfortable temperatures. By principle, there is no need to adapt the temperature manually. When entering the apartment please use status ”comfort” (middle danfoss room temperature box in front of house door). When leaving the house please click on status ”away”.

2) Parking spot: You can park one car at parking spot 14 (first spot on the right when entering the garage). In case of a second car, please do park next to the school (grey building) about 200 meters from Casa Lumnezia. To get there take the little road near the church up and turn left after about 50 meters. PS: Please do contact us in advance per mail if you want to charge your EV during your stay. It is not allowed to charge your EV car without permission.

3) WIFI-Internet and Television: We use a green.ch network. If you want to connect to the Wifi, please search for ”Fritzbox WLAN 7360” and use the password ”89596014656725921912”. We have a flatscreen television (with Netflix access), but offer also offer beautiful panoramas as an alternative television instead. ☺

4) Garden, toys and quiet hours: You can make use of the garden area downstairs. To respect the privacy of our neighbours, we kindly ask to stay as much as possible out of the front view of the ground floor apartments and to not make noise after 10 PM.

5) Clocks and churches: Clocks have a key function in Val Lumnezia and locals’ daily rhythm. In Vignogn, clocks do ring every 15 min shortly, with longer intermezzos at 5 AM, 11 AM and 8 PM. These hours do remind mountain inhabitants to wake up, eat and sleep according to their biological clock and rhythm of nature and local life. If you are a light sleaper, extremely sensitive to (natural) sounds, please bring your own earplugs along.

6) Local grocery, bakery and butcher: Your basic shoppings, including bread, fruits and vegetables, can be done at the local La Stizun ’boutique’ market of Vignogn (1 min by foot). Walk down to the main street and follow the main route upwards for another 30 meters towards Vrin. It’s closed on Sundays. A local and traditional bakery can be found at Vrin (open on Sunday after 11:30 AM) or Ilanz. A local bio-suisse butcher is in Vrin (Miezvitg 36a). Big supermarkets like COOP and ALDI are in Ilanz.

7) Laundry, shoes, sofas and smoking: We kindly ask our guests to leave the used laundry and towels on the floor when leaving the house on the last day. Please take off your shoes when entering the apartment. Shoes can be placed next to the entry door at the black plastic plates. Please do not let kids eat or jump on our sofas as they are quite sensitive. Smoking is not allowed inside the house.

8) Nespresso coffee machine: Please do clean the milk steamer inside manually directly after using. The milk steamer can not be placed in the dishwasher. Nespresso cups can be bought at the Zinsli shop in Ilanz. We provide you with a couple of Nespresso cups for free to welcome you at our place.

9) Adapters and electric equipment: There are several adapters available in case you want to use electric equipment with European standard connections.

10) Oven/steamer/dishwasher/cooktop/washing tumble: Please read the manual instructions before using. All manuals are in the drawer below the oven. Please remove all dishes and glasses from the dishwasher before departure.

11) Cooking with induction and hob extractor system: Our hob extractor system is integrated in our induction cooktop (middle). For activating, please press the + button and remove cover plates during cooking.

12) Garbage and waste collection point: Val Lumnezia uses green plastic bags for waste collection. Bags can be bought at all supermarkets. The closest waste collection point is 20 meters on your left right after the Volg supermarket of Vignogn. Please clean up the refrigerator and take the garbage with you to the waste collection point the day of your departure (Vignogn or Vella).

13) Departure and house key: Please leave the house on the day of your departure at 11:00 AM at the latest. When leaving, please lock the front door and place the house key back into the black key locker within our mailbox ”Casa Lumnezia”.
