The hotel is modern, it’s located in the heart of the city and short walking distance to Lugano lake. Closed to the hotel there are many designer boutiques (luxury clothing brands), also behind the hotel there is a cable care for going up to the train station. If you are coming to Lugano by train, you just take the cable car for going down the city center. Regarding hotel staff, they are very decency and friendly.

From the moment we arrived we were happy. Great reception staff. Special mention to Carlotta. Helpful and courteous. The room! Good size, beautiful view with cute little balcony. Beautiful hotel with a nice view of Lake Lugano. Great rooms. We were upgraded from a Mountain View room to a beautiful lake view at no cost. Thank you hotel Lido Seegarten. The best breakfast ever, the dining area has a view of the lake. I highly recommend this hotel.

I asked for an iron and I was told that service was not provided, that I could give my clothes to housekeeping and that for a fee that would iron my clothes, I thought it was not great as most hotels of 4 stars provide you with an iron, but I said ok. But when I asked if they could come up to get my clothes, the answer was « ah that will add 50% more to the price ». I was disappointed ☹️.

Didn’t feel like 4* - said there are 3 restaurants, in fact one one with not that much menu choice and overpriced; said parking available - in fact offered me to park in a car park “5 mins” away for CHF 30 overnight, the park meters outside the hotel start at 7am. Room basic with noise from the road.

Street View Rather Than Mountain View
To better manage guest expectation I think the Mountain View room should be called Street View since the mountain that can be seen represents perhaps 1% of the view. Also during my stay (October 2022) right in front of my room a very large construction project is taking place and they start pilling before 7am. I would not have booked the room if i had known this.

Nightmare with parking especially if you have disabilities. Poor assistance. We cut our stay . No one does it for you. Takes a good 15 mins to either walk back after you drop the car off and 15 mins to go pick it up. Front door is on a busy street
