Charming Stone Farmhouse - Private Pool, Lovely Countryside

Les Igailloux is a beautifully restored farmhouse located in the heart of the Quercy Regional Natural Park, just outside the village of Lugagnac in South of France. This exceptional, spacious and airy property is surrounded by three acres of private land with a large outdoor pool and breathtaking views of the countryside. Fully restored in a charming, rustic, ‘Quercy’ style that is typical of the Lot region, the old stone barn boasts many original 19th century period features. It is tastefully decorated and comfortably furnished including all modern amenities.

The spacious interior is light, modern and well equipped. The front door of the property leads into an open plan kitchen area containing the kitchen and dining room, which further leads into a vast open-plan living area with a comfortable sofa around an old stone fireplace. The French doors lead onto the patio & garden on both sides of the house. The property comprises 3 spacious bedrooms and en suite bathrooms; one is located on the ground floor with large bay windows leading into the garden, while the other two bedrooms are situated on the first floor.

Outside the house, a large lawn extends to a lovely terrace and a covered BBQ area, where one can enjoy outdoor meals under a big lime-tree. Beyond the garden is a path that takes you to the outdoor pool with patio and deck chairs and a gorgeous view of woods and meadows.

There is private parking onsite.
All linen and towels provided with beds made up upon arrival.

The house is conveniently located near Limogne-en-Quercy (3km), a local village where you can find all local amenities including supermarkets, restaurants, pharmacy etc, and is also within easy drive from the renowned and beautiful medieval village of Saint-Cirq-Lapopie.

Visitors are spoilt for choice with things to do nearby:
Superb walking & biking trails; visits to historical sites and prehistoric caves; Chateaus; Medieval towns (St Cirq Lapopie, Rocamadour, Cordes sur Ciel, Najac) ; Markets (Limogne, Cajarc, Cahors); Rivers and Lakes for swimming, kayaking canoeing and other: Vineyards and wine-tasting (Cahors or Gaillac Wine Regions)
The Roman city of Cahors is 35km away, providing plenty of choice for bars, restaurants, shops, historical walks, art and culture.

Perfect family holiday
The perfect house for a family holiday. We loved the garden, pool and all the different areas and the fully equipped house felt like a home from home. It was handy that the local town was so near and had all we really needed but also lots to see and do around. Communication with the owner was very good. It was everything we needed, and more!! We are already planning our next trip!

Paradise in the French countryside
My family and I had the most wonderful time staying at Birdie’s home. We were welcomed in by Birdie as if we were long family friends - Birdie had been extremely accommodating with our arrival times and delays etc. Birdie’s home was full of character, adorned with pictures of her family, with a fully stocked kitchen, games to play, and everything else we could need. A special highlight was of course the pool which overlooked a gorgeous countryside view. The hum of the crickets is something we all miss! Thank you so much Birdie.

Lovely French Village
Six of us stayed here in June and had a fantastic time at Les Igailloux. The property was well furnished and the kitchen was well equipped. The best part was the grounds that the property sit in which had an abundance of plums in season. It's also big enough to feel like you have your own woodland, pool area and orchard for children to roam in. Bear in mind that 2 rooms are adjoining meaning you have to walk through one to get to the bathroom or downstairs. This works well for families with children but may be an issue for others. The pool was lovely (but cold!). The area itself is also very convenient for a number of nearby sites with St-Cirq Lapopie being an easy 20 mins drive away. There are also caves and Chateauxs to explore.

Just, beautiful
Birdie is a great host and her home is beautiful to stay in! Ten minutes drive from the nearest village (take some ingredients with you if you’re arriving in the evening - shops locally close at 7 and restaurants around 9). The house is a lovely old farmhouse set in its own grounds, beds are all comfortable, kitchen well equipped and the pool, with views down the valley, is gorgeous. Thank you so much, it was divine!

Bonnes vacances !

Characterful house in a fabulous location.
We loved our stay at Les Igailloux - our family quickly felt at home in your home. Lovely outside eating areas, great pool, plenty of space to kick a ball or read quietly. We slept well in the very comfortable beds and enjoyed waking to birdsong. The Sunday market in Limogne made for easy provisioning. The supermarket on the road to Cahors has everything else you could possibly need - but only 20 mins to Leclerc on the outskirts of Villefranche for more. Walk from the door, kayak on the Cele, hire bikes, visit Cajarc and Figeac or just stay at home and fight over the hammock. There's plenty to do - and every reason to stay close to base and enjoy the peace and countryside around the house. The Halliday Family Nottingham England

Strongly recommended country rental near Cahors
We stayed in Sebastian's rental back in 2007 - I think we were one of the first to visit. We do lots of rentals - typically twice a year, and we were deeply impressed by this family home. The house is unexpectedly large, as are the grounds and pool The country location appealed to us, as we felt that we were in a truly rural location BUT we were still only a short drive to a significant town (Cahors), with all its facilities. The children loved the pool, and it became a significant part of the daily routine. Aged 12 and 9, their swimming skills improved significantly during the visit. The house was furnished as a personal country home, and it was a pleasure to enjoy a proper French Country Home. This is a region which still feels genuinely French, without the grinding refurbishment that you see in the Riviera and at other coastal favourites. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the house, and have no hesitation in recommending to those looking for a charming, rural holiday in someone's private holiday home. Perfect escape
What a fabulous place to stay- the house itself is so comfortable and welcoming and the area is really gorgeous. We were a party ranging in age from 16 to 86 and everyone was comfortable and loved being secluded but near to Limogne- with everything we needed close enough to cycle to. Lovely friendly neighbours. A great place to drop off the planet for a week (wish we could have stayed longer) but lots to do nearby and the silence, stars and wildlife are all magical. Lovely pool, well equiped kitchen if, like us, you enjoy cooking, and a real feeling of being lent a friend's house, complete with cds, books, cookery books, and a wonderful old piano- truly delightful.

Beautiful house in the Lot Valley
The property is beautiful both inside and outside; the grounds are vast with ample parking and great lawns for the kids to run around on. The pool is a fantastic size, just right for 4 children and an enthusiastic Dad. The location of the property is just tucked away enough to feel secluded but near enough to a big town to cycle down to get fresh croissants every day. Inside, the house has been converted in such a way to give the feeling of enormous space with very 'French farmhouse' interior decorations. It is very comfortable and casually furnished, with no worries about breaking anything (again, the 4 kids). All of the rooms are a great size including the three bedrooms and even the bathrooms. We were thrilled when we were shown around the house by the very lovely caretaker. The area is wonderful for those interested in the 'great outdoors'. We had two weeks of great weather to cycle, hike, canoe and generally hang around by the pool. The forest is beautiful and the area is covered in paths and routes for walking/cycling. The Lot is a spectacular area with many interesting things to visit: prehistoric caves, ancient towns perched on the rock cliffs and a great local chateau. I would thoroughly recommend both the house and the area to any friend or relative. The owner of the house and the caretaker were very amenable; overall we had an excellent vacation.

Exceeded expectations; brilliant family holiday!
A family "Wow" when we arrived from both parents and teenagers. A beautiful traditional 150 year old stone farmhouse set in its own 3 acres! - probably the original farmhouse of the area. The house is individual and secluded (not in the garden of another house). The garden includes large open spaces but also several shady areas for sitting or eating. Nice touches include a hammock, a lit terrace under a mature lime tree outside a covered outside kitchen with a built in barbecue; the original dry stone walls and even two pigstys (without pigs). There was even a nice old piano. The large modern swimming pool looks out over fields to distant hills and gets full sun all day - our 16 year old son and 19 year old daughter spent hours in it. Three storeys at one end and two at the other, the house was spacious and beatifully furnished with ancient beams etc., but also all modern convieniences such as internet wi-fi. and full washing / drying facilities in the basement. The living spaces were bright and airy. The double bed in the master bedoom was fine for two, our strapping 16 year old was happy in the double in bedroom two, but our daughter found the single beds in the third bedroom a little small. This felt like a home from home with a large CD collection and shelves of books in both english and french for holiday reading. You do need a car as the nearest village is a little way off, but it has a couple of restaurants and cafes and a Sunday market worth a visit. There are also many medieval sights, hilltop villages etc to see including a local chateau, all along the river Lot valley. We saw very few tourists - this is very much a 'French' area. The local lady who gave us the keys and the neighbour who looks after the pool were charming and very helpful, as was the owner, making us feel instantly accepted. In short; our expectations were exceeded in almost every aspect by this property and its location. we had a fantastic and memorable holiday.

A very nice place for the holiday
We (four adults en two children, both 11 years old) stayed in the house for 11 days. The house was great. There was a lot of room inside and outside. We could chose to sit in the sun or in the shadow, near the house or near the swimming pool. There are enough tables and chairs to make somewhere in the garden a definite sitting place. The house was clean. The only thing is that the beds for 2 persons were small. What we also liked was the fact that there were not a lot of tourists in that area. Even not in july! 5 minutes by car there is a little village to do the shoppings. And there are 2 ore 3 restaurants and a few nice terraces to have a drink. The area is really beautiful. There was a very friendly neighbour who told us about the beautiful places and the good restaurants. We enjoyed our holiday. I never go to the same place twice, but I really can advice this place if you like to stay in a quitte place. Realise that you need a car.
