Did you know that the boatmen at the Szczecin Lagoon lived in wooden houses for centuries? We have taken up this tradition. The boatman's house has a very individual equipment, which we have brought with us from traveling around the Baltic Sea. You will find here an antique, Swedish kitchen bench, Pomeranian wardrobes, porcelain plates and oil paintings from East Prussia as well as furniture from Scandinavian designers from the 60s. Decelerate by the fireplace and in the garden sauna.

The boatmen, who drove out of our natural harbor on the Haffkähnen in the world, have given our three houses the name. Each boatswain's house consists of two halves for up to 6 people each. You can also book a second half of the house if you are up to 12 people and open a connecting door.
Relax on long walks on the water or in the adjacent pine forest. In our natural harbor, only 500m away, you can use our rowing boats. How about a rowing boat tour in the most beautiful sunset on the Baltic Sea? Enjoy fresh bread in the morning, which we hang on the door or go into our organic vegetable garden and harvest fresh vegetables for a delicious salad.
The fishing village Rieth with its 148 inhabitants is a very special gem on the Szczecin Lagoon.
As soon as you drive into the village, you will be greeted by Vorpommerschen brick and half-timbered houses and well-kept cottage gardens. Soothing to know that you have to drive back the only road that leads into the village. Through traffic does not exist. Arrived at the village green (Herrengarten) with its ancient chestnuts, you can see the former "Gasthof zum Blaue See", whose appearance has not changed for 150 years and is now a holiday home. Vis à vis is the smallest museum in Germany, the Riether Heimatstube with exhibits from the Szczecin Lagoon and the Baltic Sea.
If you drive further into the village, you pass the former village school, half-timbered church, former forestry and a few meters further the castle Rieth.
Then you reach the natural harbor with sailing and fishing boats, traps, nets. From here you can take a boat across the lagoon to the Baltic Sea. Now it is only a few meters to the beach. The Waldbadestelle is ideal especially for children, since the water only gradually gets deeper. The sailmaker's house is also ideal for a holiday with a dog because it is completely fenced.
The wide view over the bay out to the lagoon is often interrupted by the drawing of white-tailed eagles. The call of the cranes from the surrounding meadows proclaimed an intact nature, as it is rarely found.
Rieth offers a small vegetarian restaurant in Gesundhaus Klatschmohn and a café serving home-baked cakes. In summer, the saxophone-playing fisherman always organizes a smoke evening on Friday evening, right on the water. With him you can immediately decide which fish he should finish for you for the next few days, if you kindle the grill.
But the region also has a lot to offer.
The Riether Winkel and the whole Szczecin Lagoon are located in the middle of the "Nature Park on the Szczecin Lagoon". Here you can take the most beautiful cycling and hiking tours "Around the Neuwarper See". The rental bike we delivered directly to the house. A cutter drives you over the lagoon and you can discover the island of Usedom on the horizon. How about a cooking class or vegetarian spreads and fresh bread in Gesundhaus Klatschmohn, a ride on horseback at Fennhof Ludwigsburg or a trip to the many small and original Haffstrände from Altwarp to Ueckermünde. These can also be reached via a bike path if you do not want to move the car.
The Riether Winkel region and the entire Szczecin Lagoon offer you a wonderful holiday away from the tourist strongholds in untouched landscape between forest and water.
