Cabin getaway in Luck blocks from Big Butternut Lake and golf course
This is a one bedroom home, so we have made the most of the space by offering 2 bunk beds in the bedroom, a futon couch in living room, a couple full couches, and the option for blow up mattresses in the bedroom and living room if you choose that over the other options.. The bathroom is fully cedar and smells wonderful. The rest of the house is finished in pine. There is a full kitchen, large yard, and firepit area. With option to rent kayaks and canoes upon request ahead of time for the lake just down the road. Security camera located outside above kitchen window for your safety. Pets are allowed with a pet deposit. We can provide a portable kennel for your use. All pets are to be kept in kennels and not allowed on furniture, beds or any linens. If your pet is not housebroken please have it in the kennel and outside. Thank you for being considerate. We appreciate your business.

Property was neatly decorated & clean.
Everything available for use was functional.
Very peaceful setting for relaxing outdoors.
I totally enjoyed my stay at this property.
Thank you very much to the host.
We enjoyed our time at the cabin. Close to the golf course and lake. Property was well maintained and provided everything that we needed.
We would definitely stay there in the future. The host was great.
I was very happy with my stay! The house is very cute. It was just perfect. It definitely met all my needs. Tareh checked to make sure everything was great. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
House was small but cozy on a treed private lot - only one neighbor in view - and on a road that doesn't have a lot of traffic, but when it does, vehicles speed past rather noisily. Lower bunk beds and futon (where we slept) were comfortable and fans were provided in the bedroom and near the futon. We played cards and ate in the living room or outside because the kitchen was not big enough for a regular table and chairs. We watched Netflix on the one rainy day during our stay and there was plenty of room on the two couches for the three of us to sprawl out. We could hear owls at night and were a short drive to the lake and graveled walking paths. Host was easily accessible and responsive to questions.
To start off when we first pulled in the “front” yard was a mess we didn’t even know we were at the right place. Once we realized we were I went to get the key out of the lock box and there was no key inside. I messaged the host and got zero response. Luckily a back sliding door was open to get inside. When walking inside it did not look like the pictures. The bathroom was dirty. The mirror and sink had soap/toothpaste splattered everywhere. Dirty towel on the floor. Bathroom trash was not emptied. When it came time to cook pots and pans were greasy and horrible options for utensils. The amount of bugs inside was horrible. When outside to have a campfire the mosquitos were horrible. There was a dead mouse under the deck for my dogs to get to. The yard was filled with a bunch of junk in the woods and by there garage just laying everywhere. Very trashy looking. The host never responded to any of my messages the entire trip. Don’t get me wrong it’s a cute cabin but not at all how it was advertised and not taken care of or cleaned.

No TP and mice
There was no toilet paper at the property, luckily we had a roll in the car so we used our own. The evening of our stay we saw a mouse pop out from the gap between the baseboard and the floor near the patio door. It makes you question the cleanliness of the floors.
Other quirks of this property / stay:
- no door on the bedroom
- only bunkbeds and couches, no 2 person beds
- carpet had a musty smell
- clock was an hour off, not a problem, just indicative of a lack of attention to detail on this property
These are easily fixable. Not a bad property, just badly needs the cleaner / caretaker to be proactive and oay more attention.
This is my second time staying here. We like the area and ease of getting around small communities. The stay was relaxing , quiet and cozy!

Nice notty pine interior
Good shower. Good water pressure. Newer plumbing fixtures. Lots of morning light in kitchen. Would have appreciated a few more kitchen utensils, pans, small appliances. Exterior yard needs a good clean up. Fairly close to town grocery store- about 5-7 minutes. Recommend local pizza- Pub 35. And Blacksmith Shop - bar and grill.
We rented this property because it offered kayak rental, proximity to the twin cities and the allowed pets. The reason for the rating is a few things we encountered during our stay. First, I went to start the grill to cook the steaks we had purchased in Luck, I could not get the valve to turn on the rusty propane tank. After bringing this to the host attention, we were told "we check the tank after every rental, we must have tightened it too much." We had a second option for dinner, so we turned on the oven. The oven was dirty enough that it filled the kitchen with smoke and set off the fire alarm in the living room. We had to open doors and windows to get the smoke out. The air conditioning (a small single window unit) did NOT have the power to cool the space rapidly after letting in all the hot summer air. It was also disappointing that we rented the kayaks and we needed to clean out spider webs and get the dirt off the sides before we could put them in the vehicle to drive them to the lake. It was poorly stocked with only 3 glasses available to use (there are plenty of coffee mugs) and there were no wine glasses. We did leave the corkscrew behind that we purchased so the next people would not have to purchase one. Lastly, I failed to read the list of things provided and assumed there would be a hairdryer available, since every other VRBO we have rented has had one available. Make sure you pack a hairdryer.
My husband and I enjoyed the cabin very much. It was clean, pictures were accurate, and the beds were comfortable. The kitchen was stocked nicely.
The hosts answer quickly if you have a question.
And we enjoyed going down to the lake to fish. It was perfect for us. And we loved the decor!!
The Vrbo cost was similar to driving 30 miles to a Holiday Inn with great WiFi and a pool.
So the mechanical key lock had to be just right or the box could not be opened. Next the WiFi could not be accessed. I had to use my phone with verizon network to access my e-mail and the TV I had to use my Prime account. Other wise it was OK. The cost was way out of line because the web site made you buy insurance. If the owner was there they would have gotten an earful. We bought because it was close to Milltown.
This is a quaint little place, not much to look at from the outside but inside redone nicely. Small but comfortable.
Missing some amenities like soap in shower but got by. Front door deadbolt needs to be adjusted, had issues locking when leaving. Grill could use some updating very rusty but was functional.
Firewood could use some weather protection as it was all really wet and unusable. Yard could use some cleanup.
Great little deck off the back, quiet surroundings. No real exit instructions as listed on note on fridge, did find some on the VRBO site.
We rented the house because we attended a 50th anniversary party in balsam Lake. It is recently updated with tongue and groove pine and cedar tongue and groove. Great location for us only five minutes to where we had to go. Very clean and plenty of seating
Cute spot for a family getaway. Our kids liked the backyard for playing and bonfires. Clean, cozy, adorable cabin decor. Many, many nice area lakes for fishing. Grade school a few blocks away had a nice lakeside playground for evenings too.
