"The house is a beautifully redone schist structure in the center of Talasnal. All the comforts of home; nicely stocked kitchen, great fireplace (heated the whole house), comfortable beds, and nice hot showers. Great hikes just walking out the front door…although we did get lost the first day. Haha. Both Joao and Alda were super responsive and so helpful. Even offering to pick us up in Candal after our very long misplaced hike. Definitely purchase any supplies before arriving as the tiny Mercado...

"Really appreciated the warm welcome and offer of a drink from the staff upon our arrival. Also, the unique and gracious personal welcome letter the staff had written which was in our room. They were most helpful throughout our stay with info regarding restaurants, directions, parking, sights to see, etc. "

You NEED to stay here if you're visiting Coimbra

"WOW. This hotel blew our expectations and anticipations out of the water. From the first interaction, they, especially Catarina, were incredibly friendly, helpful and helped us settle right in to Coimbra. Then there's the property itself. The original stone walls and arch ways, the VIEWS and the furnishings are just breathtaking. Out of all the places we stayed in Portugal during our 10 day trip, this was the location we wished we could go back to most. Cannot recommend highly enough. "

"You're in a palace. What more do you need? Though, the rooms are a little older and run down, you're in a palace! They were clean and comfortable enough. It's so beautiful just to sit inside or in the gardens. Walking around Bussaco forrest is one of the most incredible experiences of my life. This was my second visit and I will be returning. "
