The house was conveniently located to downtown, just a short ride to Market St for dinner and drinks. The house was very clean and comfortable, and having a pool table was great
Fun in the evenings. Nick was a great host, communicated everything we needed to know about our stay, and checked in to be sure we had everything we needed .
We stayed for a couple days as we explored the bourbon trail. House was clean and enough space for all of us. The upstairs layout included a bedroom without a door( but had a beaded curtain). Everyone has to walk through the one bedroom to access the bathroom. Not a complaint as that is the layout, just something to know.
The check-in process was easy and the house was clean. I was aware this was an old house, but the "remodel" only covered a few portions of the house. It was very cold downstairs (51 degrees!) and the heater did not work. When we woke up the first morning, the kitchen was covered in ants. The house and the area is extremely loud. Freeway noise all night, people in the street in front of the house all night. Every step in the house creeks as well. The upstairs bathroom smelled like mold and the walls very fragile. There was standing water on the floor of the basement and it smelled very musty. The stairs were slanted to the right by about 6 inches. There were 2 windows that didn't lock and it is in a pretty shady neigborhood. I have photos and video to prove all of this. We left after the first night, as we were supposed to stay for 3 nights. I never leave bad reviews unless its really bad, and this was so bad we had to leave. I have asked for a refund for the 2 nights we didn't stay, but the owner disapeared and didn't answer any messages. If I were you, I would look elsewhere for a place to stay.

Disliked: Check-in, communication
Worst experience ever.
We never received the access code to our rental. The property manager never responded to our messages before our stay or when we were urgently messaging for access. Customer Service was of no assistance. We spent hours on the phone with them trying to get assistance. Two representatives confirmed via logging into my app that an access code had never been sent. One representative told us to call a locksmith. Several times our call was disconnected which required us to call back and start all over again. Each attempted included a minimum of a 15 minute wait. The reason for our visit to Louisville was for a celebration of life that began at 4pm. We spent hours during the drive to Louisville and then afterward we had to resume our quest for entry to our paid and confirmed accommodations. This lasted for another several hours without any contact from the owner via our messages or VRBO reaching out. Finally, after 9:30pm we were provided the entry code and able to relax knowing that we had accommodations for the evening. I have not received any communication from VRBO regarding a partial refund due to this horrific experience. I think it is outrageous that both the owner and VRBO received their full compensation but neither provided the agreed upon services thus leaving seven people stranded and at the mercy of getting disconnected by CS while awaiting assistance to gain entry.
