The property is very private, completely wooded, and has easy access to the George Washington National Forest, Trout Pond Recreation Area, and more.
A firepit, picnic area, porch swing, indoor wood-burning fireplace, and cozy living space complete this cabin getaway.
The space
Located about 2 hours from Washington, DC, the home is a completely private two-story, 1,800 SF cabin with three beds and two bedrooms. The 2.5 acre property is totally secluded from neighbors, and the home's location on a hillside places you amongst the treetops.
BEDROOMS:
The cabin has two bedrooms on the second floor that comfortably sleeps up to 6 people. The primary bedroom has a king size bed, while the secondary bedroom has two queen beds.
BATHROOM:
There is one bathroom for guests to share. Located on the first floor, the bathroom has a standard combination tub & shower, as well as a large vanity.
KITCHEN:
The kitchen is fully stocked with every essential cookware, dinnerware, and utensil needed to prepare any and all meals during your stay.
LIVING & DINING:
The living room is furnished with a large wrap-around couch and smart TV, perfect for a cozy movie night. Adjacent to the living room, the dining room table is large enough for every guest to enjoy a home-made meal or one of the board games provided in the home. Both spaces have direct access to the indoor, wood-burning stove.
SCREEN PORCH:
Off of the living room is a screen porch with spectacular views of the tree canopy, and in the winter, the mountain peaks in the distance.
OUTDOOR:
The front main porch has a charming porch swing and charcoal grill for guest use. Around the rear of the house, on the level below is an additional porch with access to the outdoor fire pit. Enjoy a cool evening around the fire, while also taking in the star-filled sky of the West Virginian wilderness.
LOCAL ATTRACTIONS:
The home is located within the George Washington National Forest, and is part of the Trout Pond Property Owner's Association. The cabin provides immediate access to nature, while Trout Pond (located within the neighborhood) offers opportunities for hiking, swimming, and fishing.
Within a 30 minute drive, the neighboring towns of Lost City and Wardensville offer local restaurants, general stores, farmers markets, and much more. Be sure to check out, Guesthouse Lost River, The Lost River Trading Post, The Lost River General Store & Cafe, and TK's Lounge to name a few.
Beyond that guests can also enjoy many local vineyards in the region, Bryce Ski Resort, Luray Caverns, and The Lost River State Park.
Guest access
Guests will be provided with a unique access code to enter the home via an electronic keypad at the front door. Otherwise, the entire home and property are available for guest use.
Other things to note
IMPORTANT:
Be sure to download offline maps before you arrive because there is no cell service once you enter the National Forest. But don’t be concerned, your phones will work once connected to Wi-Fi at the home. There is also a landline for emergencies.
Once on site, guests will have free use of EV Charging if needed (J1772, 32-amp, 240 v charging is provided). Tesla owners, please bring your adapter.
