Selina Hostels at Playa Venao
The hostel is new and not finished yet, but it has a great design, is located directly at the beach and the staff is really cool. A con is that there is only one shop which has basically nothing and is really expensive; so you either have to bring your food or eat at the bar in the hostel.
The beach itself is good for surfers, but you can also enjoy the waves without a board.
There are only two (or maybe three; nobody knows) buses from Pedasí to Playa Venao: once in the morning (I think at 7) and once at 12 o'clock. It takes around 1.5 hours. Keep your eyes open and when you see the sign of the hostel, shout "(la) parada, por favor"

Beautiful white beaches and a large coral reef is found on this small island near the cost of Pedasí! Be careful when you try to have a picknick on this island though... The place is called "island of the lizards" for a reason... #LifeAtExpedia

"Beautiful location right on the beach..perfect surf getaway. Hotel vibe is upscale and relaxed. Super friendly staff, great bar and restaurant. Pool, quality surf rentals. Deluxe suite is large with nice furnishings taht fir the ilupscale tropical vibe of the hotel. On a motorcycle trip and ended up booking 3 extra nights to stay a bit longer. "

"A lovely and unique space to spend some quiet time, engage in wellness activities, or enjoy Venao without the having to stay there. The domes are well appointed and comfortable. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The bar has nice cocktails and the food in the restaurant is very good although both are on the pricy side. I had an absolutely amazing massage by one of the founders (a Swiss man named Saul although I’m not sure I spelled his name correctly) which incorporated some energy work. ...

"It was amazing from check in to check out. Great service great food chef and waite staff. Beautiful grounds ..staff always working to make it clean and welcoming. Free coffee... fresh ice and water lovely view watching the surfers any time if day. The road in is in need of repair. Not the hotels fault. Overall the most relaxing vacation with traveling family. "

"Sansara is wonderful. We went with our family of 6 - three young men and a girlfriend and we all enjoyed our stay. A lot of activities to do at extra cost. The food was excellent at the resort and the staff was lovely !!! A great get away for all at a different pace. "

"Spend two days to get acquainted with city and discovered many good restaurants and grocery stores. "

"This so called "rainy season" should be more accurately renamed to "rainy night season". Daytime was always partially cloudy enough to bare the heat from the sun, i got a beautiful tan, water was exceptionally warm with nice waves to play in with no worry of undertow currents. I highly recommend experiencing this time of year to travel here and avoiding crowds, i had miles of beach in both directions to myself for long morning walks and dusk evenings. Dark nights are nice to be inside listening...
