This was our second trip to Boquete, and we can enthusiastically recommend it to those looking for a unique back-to-nature experience. Birding, hiking, rock climbing, rafting are all nearby. As far as the Fireside Inn, the location is lovely, nestled by a stream and with wonderful views of the mountains. The charm ended at our door, as our homemade "cabin" was dark, poorly-lit, and damp. We ended up with some sort of sinus congestion during our visit.
We ate one meal in the attached Georges Grill, which was adequate but somewhat pricey. Also, the wood-fired pizza oven was not drafting properly, so we left reeking of creosote and smoke.
The owner/chef George is a nice fellow, but the place could benefit from a little modernization. Still, for the area, it's inexpensive.
