Staying on the Queen Mary was mostly good. The ship was converted to a hotel decades ago but stays true to the nautical theme throughout the ship. The ship is a century old, and certainly has a lot of history behind her, which is available to guests to explore in the hotel area. There is also a guided tour that costs extra, but we did not take part in that as we did not have time. The down sides were few. Individual rooms do not have climate control, so your room is set at whatever temperature the staff sets. There are also raised thresholds separating the bedroom from the bathroom, which could be a tripping hazard for anyone getting up in the middle of the dark. The faucet handles look to be original to the ship, as do the tub, sink, & toilet. That also means that it gives the bathrooms a very old and dirty appearance. I am quite sure they were clean, and they are in fact old, so I'm not sure that should be changed. The tub in our bathroom is awkward to stand in as the bottom slopes from the sides to the middle, so this may pose a slipping hazard for anyone not steady on their feet. And the walls don't mute any of the noise from the hallway or neighboring staterooms. Finally, at check-in I was told there would be a $23 payable at that time. That was $20 more than Expedia disclosed. Not a deal breaker for us, but I don't like surprises, so be aware. I'm glad we stayed, but I don't see us returning now that we have done it once.

This place is unique and cool. Such a ton of history including trips by Winston Churchill during the war. It was perfect for one night stays, especially if your going on a cruise the next day. I would probably not stay here for more than that honestly. The air condition and heat are controlled centrally so I would be aware of that but do not let that be a hinderance. The ship was built in 1935 and then converted to a war ship to transport troops so keep that in mind. However, their Wi-Fi was good and there are so many things on the ship to look at that we did not see it all.

We had a one night stay and it was great. We went down to bar where we met the amazing bar tender Brian. He made me the best White Russian!!!! We then went to the clam chowder restaurant in the premises and the food was delicious. Staff was helpful and friendly, made our stay even better. Thank you!!!!!

It’s a good place to stay if you’re going on a cruise since you’re right by the port. But I would not stay here otherwise. And it’s supposed to be an old chip that I like new and modern. But I would stay here again if I was going on another cruise cause it’s very handy. You walk right off the ship and onto your cruise ship.

It is a wonderful ship & potentially a great experience however.....karoeke evenings? Really? Drunks screeching until 10pm. Penny pinching.....not all areas, open to guests;, overnight parking for guests at $32 (where else can you park?); resort fee $23 for gym (not wanted) & 2 small bottles of water; art deco splendor of a starbucks (!) without a functioning espresso machine. Pity, with some care & knowledge could be an unforgettable stay.....for the right reasons

Perfect place to stay if you are cruising out of Long Beach. They share a parking lot. We walked across the lot and boarded our cruise at 10:30 AM. Awesome! Fun history. Engine room is not to be missed. Good food options. Comfy beds and pillows! What’s not to like?

This is an old famous ship! Extremely interesting! That being said , our room had a bed and 2 chairs which were very wobbly and no chest of drawers for clothes. It had a small table which was not big enough for a suitcase but for morning coffee!

The RMS Queen Mary is unique and a great experience but some areas are in need of repair repaint and decking on the port side aft have been covered in cheap plywood that isnot suitable to outside elements. It is still an experience not to be missed. The food and service was excellent and the Stateroom whilst dated was clran and well kept showing that the Queen Mary was ahead of its time.

I loved that this location is walking distance from the cruise port but the hotel room walls are very thin and our neighbors were banging on the wall and screaming because they could hear us packing our stuff up to leave. We could hear the people through the wall when they were socializing and watching tv but this did not cause us to yell and scream at them.

Great for a tour or a drink but cabins and bathrooms in very bad shape rusting, flaking. Staff doing their best but ship is 90 years old and impossible to maintain. Also a hike from anything else interesting. She is a magnificent ship from another era but very hard to make it into a workable hotel. My parents crossed the Atlantic on it twice! And I was aboard as a child in 1955

If you ever wanted to spend a night at a museum, this is your place. The ship is very interesting and all my interactions with staff have all been great. The food at the restaurant has been particularly wonderful. On the down side, there is no thermostats or coffee makers in the rooms.
