Messy and dirty home
House was not properly cleaned upon arrival - carpets were heavily stained, blinds had thick dust, pool was filthy, and multiple light bulbs were out in bathrooms. The sink was backed up with rotting food and the house had a musty smell. No basic paper products were provided - we had to buy our own toilet paper and paper towels. We had to spend 3 hours deep cleaning ourselves since no cleaning crew was available before Thanksgiving. Host Maor was responsive and arranged carpet cleaning (which required us to leave for a day), fixed the sink, and addressed some issues. However, we then discovered the oven display wasn't working (problematic for Thanksgiving cooking) and there was insufficient cookware and place settings. While Maor brought some supplies and tried to help, spending our first two days either cleaning or waiting for repairs significantly impacted our holiday stay. When requesting reasonable compensation for lost time (cleaning deposit and 2 days' refund), Maor told me the owners were offended by this request. We were offered the POSSIBILITY of a portion of the cleaning fee in exchange for not leaving a negative review - which was never received. Though Maor was communicative and tried to help, the property's condition was unacceptable for a holiday rental at this price point, and the owner’s unwillingness to correct the situation financially felt like a scam. Future guests should be aware these basic cleanliness, supply, and maintenance issues need to be addressed
