A summarized guest guide-
Hollywood Boulevard: You are situated between two main Boulevards which run East/West and parallel to one another: Hollywood Boulevard to your South (below the property) and Franklin Boulevard to your North (above the property)
On Hollywood Boulevard turn right and start walking West……. You will hit the Pantages theatre, and all the landmarks Hollywood is known for. One block further down is Hollywood and Vine. The Hollywood walk of fame begins here, so don’t forget to look onto the pavement to locate your favorite movie star, director, singer or other entertainer getting their personal star. About 3 X/week a red carpet movie premier is scheduled, along Hollywood Blvd, so you're bound to see the stars climb out of limos and give autographs. For additional nightlife and entertainment, just walk down a couple more blocks to Hollywood & Cahuenga to find a series of more trendy bars, restaurants, clubs and sports bars. Theatre houses and cinemas are all located here or on the Sunset Strip one block West
Franklin Avenue: This is a lovely street to explore. You can even see the Hollywood Sign on the corner of Franklin and Gower. Turn right and continue walking one block until you reach Beachwood Blvd, which will take you up a one mile road towards the Hollywood Hills,..and eventually within a stone’s throw of the iconic Hollywood Sign. Continue until you reach Griffith Park entrance where they offer horseback riding or you can take a beautiful hike up their endless trails into the mountains. Alternatively, if you continue on Franklin, past Beachwood, one more block on, you will arrive at Franklin Village, and a row of trendy, local cafes and restaurants including the Daily Planet (Clark Kent/Superman’s newspaper employer), an international newspaper stand and coffee shop, and few doors down, La Poubelle, Birds, Bourgeois Pig, Sushi, Thai food and the improvisation comedy theatre house, the Upright Citizens Brigade. Also a major supermarket called Gelsons is one block further.
Tours/Attractions/Festivals: For Universal Studios, just go to the Metro on Hollywood and Vine, which brings you right to its doorstep, one stop away. Disneyland is day's trip to Anaheim, so you will need to rent a car. Tickets to live shows such as the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, the irreverent but very funny Real Time with Bill Maher, or game shows (Price Is Right, Jeopardy!) are broadcast from any one of the studios nearby such as CBS, NBC.
