Needs upgrade
Shower curtains had mold; dish drainer cracked; drainer tray stained; no evidence the cottage had been cleaned with products that would kill Covid and other viruses; no dishwasher so dishes not sanitary.

Peaceful getaway
My family and I had a wonderful time ! It was quiet, secluded and homey. Close to Spencer spit park for hiking and private beach was close and enjoyable. The cottage layout was nice for family with young children.

2 people only
The cabin was good. It’s remote and perfect for a real get away. Lopez Island is quaint, everyone is very friendly and it has a real laid back charm. Unfortunately the satellite tv did not work, I tried contacting the property management company, but to no avail. Fortunately there is an area on the island to rent movies. Just an FYI, it really is not equipped to host more than 2 people at a time. Although there are multiple beds, there is one tiny loveseat and an awkward chair. But for 2 people, it is just perfect.

Great secluded and private, but in need of a deep clean
The place was clean and nice when we arrive but could tell it was just housekeeping clean, lots of dust and dirt in less used spaces, under the couch, in cabinets, etc. We had a great stay and I think housekeeping did a good job, towels and beds were clean, kitchen and bathrooms were clean, but cabin could use a once over of deep cleaning.

Much is expected of paying guests.
While the home didn’t appear to have been updated in many years, the owners left an abundance of notes for us to maintain the home. Home maintenance is not the job of a short term paying guest. Dishes were chipped and appear to have been put away dirty. There were only towels for 4 guests. The kitchen knives were very dull. Overall a nice place to stay.

Adequate
Not all amenities available . Such as washer/dryer. Location ok, but not great. Much to many notes and rules on every surface. Could be updated with better, more comfortable furniture through out.

Quiet but could be more comfortable
Four adults stayed 4 nights. The pros: the cabin is clean, has a fully equipped kitchen (needs a new coffee maker, took half an hour to brew a full pot), just a few miles from Lopez Village, is very secluded and peaceful. The cons: there is no interior place to eat other than the bar (and the bar stools are not comfortable), there is seating for only two in the living room area and therefore no place for four adults to just sit and talk, watch a movie or play games. There was only one set of towels per person for four nights stay. There was one kitchen garbage bag for four adults staying for four nights and no spare bags. The downstairs beds and pillows are covered in plastic. The downstairs toilet runs even when the handle is held down per instructions. I would recommend the owners fix the downstairs toilet, add a couple of padded folding chairs for guests to use, buy a new coffee maker and provide some additional towels and garbage bags for guests staying multiple nights.

Lacking comfort
Pros: Nice location next to a beautiful park. Cons: Not enough comfortable places to sit, useless wifi, TV with a broken screen, inadequate cooking utensils. Also, I really wanted to find that path to the private beach, but it must be so overgrown as to be invisible. Disappointing.

Cozy, Peaceful & Beautiful View
The property is tucked away in a peaceful meadow with a Ocean (&harbor) view and large yard. The house is cozy as a cabin should be with views everywhere you look and a fire place to warm up next to. Great for adults and children! Slept 5 comfortably with ample space to move around. We will rent this property again when we return to visit family on Lopez! Thank you for the chance to stay in a wonderful home.

Lovely and quiet cottage, perfect for a family vacation!
The cottage is lovely, and the location is beautiful. The kitchen was well equipped and very clean. The living room is cozy and has a stunning view. Breakfast on the deck is a must. Bedrooms are very nice, two twin beds downstairs and a double bed upstairs. There are some books and board games. The TV has cable and a DVD/VHS player. The only problem we had was with the wifi connection. Phones and laptops connected fine to the network, but we only had an actual internet connection for a few minutes, then it would stop working for a while and start back up randomly. We called for assistance and were told to unplug it for thirty seconds and then plug it back in, but that didn't fix the problem. It was still great to disconnect, though! Overall a fantastic vacation spot!

Cozy get away big enough for family
Great secluded little spot for an island getaway. Our family of 4 had plenty of sleeping room (upstairs queen w/ bathroom), downstairs had a hide-abed & room with 2 twins. Nice sized kitchen with good appliances & enough tools to cook meals. Really cozy & well kept little cabin. All in all we had a great stay and would probably rent it again. Some of the downsides: Bring your own sharp knife if you want to do some serious food prep - the selection was poor. Also, the 2 twin beds had plastic coverings on the mattresses & pillows - we were afraid to look to see why, so we left them on, but it was annoying to sleep on. Also, only 4 bath towels & washclothes were left out for a family of 4 for a 5 night stay, which is a bit stingy. The extras in the cupboard had a sign requesting to leave them for the next guests. Likewise with extra bedding and blankets. Like others mentioned - not a lot of comfortable seating inside besides the 2-seat couch. We came prepared with camp chairs which worked. And don't expect to stream any tv - we had to reboot the wifi sometimes every 10 minutes just to get internet on our smartphontes (little to no cell service here depending on your provider). There are several spots on the island to rent DVDs, though. Also, the TV is getting vertical color lines, so if you're annoyed by that sort of thing, don't plan on watching TV. There are confusing instructions about renter check out responsibilities: in one book it says renter has to take garbage to the transfer station across the island, in another book it says something different, and there are 3 or 4 different signs on the fridge for checkout instructions for renters and housekeepers. And the beach within walking distance of the cabin is nothing to write home about: rocky, smelly, murky water - looks like it's mostly just used by the local residents to launch small boats. The half-hidden path down was a fun adventure, though. And Spencer Spit State Park is just a few minutes away by car or a long walk.

Very peaceful
Beautiful, quite, cabin in the woods. Only gave it four stars because wifi didn't start working until last day, and you have to haul all of your garbage out and find a place to dump it. But it is as beautiful as it looks, and Lopez Island is as serene as you can get.

Ants and no internet
We got there and there was no internet so we called and they tried to fix it, but they never had it fixed the while stay. The BBQ was filthy and moldy, I took for ever to clean, the brush they had was missing most of the wires so it was hard to clean. The cottage looked clean, but there were ants up stairs and down stairs. They did say we were the first group of the year, so they should of had plenty of time to make sure everything was working and clean. Was disappointed in our stay.

acceptable
This place is nice if you don't plan on hanging out at the cabin. There is no comfortable place to sit, forcing most people to fumble around on the floor looking for a decent spot to relax. Also there are several notes around the house indicating guests to do laundry and empty the dishwasher, neither of which are present on the property. The only reason I say 3 stars is because Lopez is awesome. We paid $80 a night to stay here, I can't imagine paying more than that. One day it rained and we found it difficult to relax inside the cabin because of a lack of any seating area. The upstairs shower has a moldy shower curtain. No comfortable outdoor seating available.

Great location on Lopez Island with fab view of water and sunsets.
This large house has a great location adjacent to Lopez Village. You can walk into the town for access to bakery, restaurant, store and bar! The spacious west facing porch is ideal for hanging out and watching sunsets over the water. The house sits on a large lot with no immediate neighboring buildings, so you have lots of privacy and room to spread out. The large kitchen makes it easy to prepare meals for your whole group. Everything was clean and all the basics were in place. But maintenance on a few things was haphazard, which is why I'm only giving 4 stars. For instance - a wasp nest sandwiched into one of the angled skylight/windows in the upstairs master bedroom inhibited our opening of that window. Rather elaborate sun-shading devices on these windows were a mess with various cords in a tangled mess and shades haphazardly furled/ unfurled. There is a sufficient, but limited amount of water available at any one time due to limitations on the well and pump system. These things had only a slight impact on our enjoyment of the place. I would definitely recommend it for an SJ getaway!

This property was a lovely, secluded getaway and was exactly as descirbed in the listing.
I so appreciated the quiet environment and the proximity to wonderful views of the water and other San Juan Islands. We loved seeing the deer on an almost nightly basis. Very relaxing.
