Our cottage is conveniently located right in the middle of town so you can walk to the beach and all of the attractions and restaurants in town. Our shed is stocked full of bikes and toys for your use. If staying in is your desire, you'll feel comfortable relaxing in the fenced backyard with a fire pit or soaking in the hot tub.
Enjoy a vacation where everything you need is at your fingertips.
No detail has been spared in accommodating this brand new construction cottage. The beds are memory foam for your comfort. You'll stay cozy with premium linens all around; from fluffy white towels and robes to the softest sheets and luxurious down comforters. Even the sofa bed mattress has been upgraded to a premium memory foam mattress. We have provided small fans for white noise in the bedrooms as the cottage is in town so you will hear car noise. The home is equipped with air conditioning so it makes sleeping more comfortable with the windows closed.
Rainy days at the beach can be just as fun when you cozy into the couch and immerse yourself in a movie on our 70inch 4k TV. There is also an Xbox with a handful of games. We also have traditional board games for classic fun.
The kitchen is large and has been appointed with all the amenities needed to cook a delicious feast including: stove, oven, refrigerator with ice maker and water, dishwasher, microwave, crock pot, Ninja blender, kuerig, 12 cup coffee pot, french press, hand mixer, teapot, oil and vinegar, many pots and pans, cookie sheets and pyrex. You're welcome to get in touch with us to check for any specific kitchen appliances or utensils. Yes, we have a wine key ;)
The bathroom is large and has plenty of hot water for the whole family provided by our on demand water heater. You're welcome to the washer and dryer (just be sure to shake the sand outside). We have also provided a premium hair dryer, soaps and an iron.
The back yard is fully fenced for your dog and children. It's a wonderful space to enjoy the fire pit while the kids play in the sand box. Our shed is stocked with long boards, life jackets, beach cruisers, helmets, coolers, croquet, folding wagon (since we're walking distance to the beach), beach chairs, sand blanket, skim boards, beach towels and last but not least....capes to hike Cape Disappointment....because you must experiences hiking in a cape at least once.
Life jackets have been provided as our beach is not safe for swimming. The rip tides and undertows claim lives every year.
We have a few things to meet the basic needs for your dog, including bowls and a leash. There is an additional $10/night fee per dogs with a max of two. This is to accommodate the extra cleaning of hair. It is expected that guests will clean up after their pet promptly after each visit to the back yard (if you know what I mean).
Please note there are cameras for security at the front door and back yard. We only check them to make sure you got in ok and if there are any problems. There is absolutely no smoking or vaping of any kind inside the cottage. If you do smoke outside, we ask that you do so away from windows as we'd like everyone to be able to experience the fresh new cabin.
You will be surrounded by coffee, food, shops and entertainment at the Slow M'Ocean Cottage. You can walk up to Diamond Coffee a block away. Get ice cream across the street. Devour a delicious sandwich on homemade bread at Surfer Sands next to Diamond coffee. Eat in or order take out from Drop Anchor next door. Make a wine run 3 blocks away at Browns Coastal Corner Market. For live music and beach views; walk to ride bikes 3 blocks down the Sid Snyder Beach approach to the Pickled Fish Restaurant.
ON THE PENINSULA:
The Peninsula is a special place full of more to see than can be squeezed into one visit. The beach has an 8.5 mile discovery trail for endless exploration. Jake the Alligator man at Marsh's Free Museum is something your kids will never forget. For a scenic drive you'll delight in a cruise up the peninsula past the cranberry farms and through Surfside and Oysterville. Don't miss the museums! Lewis and Clark, cranberry, Blueberry and of course the Kite Museum. Long Beach is home of the International Kite Festival. I know the cottage has a wonderful kitchen for cooking but please oh please don't miss the wonderful food the Peninsula has to offer. It's almost impossible to eat something short of delicious here.
Just about the only thing you'll want a car for would be a hike at Cape Disappointment or to drive on the beach. You can drive on the beach during certain hours at the Sid Snyder or Bolstad approach (varies depending on season). The one thing I jump in the car for is the Salmon Sandwich and Huckleberry Lemonade (alchoholic) at the North Beach Tavern. It's about a mile and a half down Pacific. Everything else in town in walkable - or you can use a bike or long board. Don't miss the rides, go karts, arcade, Free Museum, mini golf, boardwalk along the beach, and movie theater.
