THINGS TO NOTE:

■ Please do NOT throw away my coffee filter in the gray basket it sits in. It is expensive to replace.
■ The Bathroom Heaters works but please do not be use them. It's old school, gets very hot to touch, and a Fire Hazard because the towel bar is located above it. The knob is taped in the upstairs bathroom. The towel bar is above the heater, and guests have left it on and scorched many towels. Please be aware of this and talk to children and guests to inform them not to turn on or touch the heater as it is very hot to touch. They would be burned if touched.
■ All dishes need to be washed and put back in their correct cabinet. Please make sure butcher block knives are put back as it is a child friendly cabin.
■ Please do not leave any items in the refrigerator. It must be left empty except for the condiments on the side shelf. Please be courteous for the next guest. You arrived with a cleared out refrigerator. Please leave with a cleared out refrigerator.
■ Guests need to take their garbage back home with them to dispose of. That includes wastebasket garbage and any garbage stored outside in the overflow can. Due to bears and other wildlife who are attracted to the smell of garbage, I elected not to sign up for local garbage services as it has become a neighborhood issue of cans full of trash scattered by bears in-between garbage pickups. You can opt out for an extra small fee that a local hauler charges. I will need advance notice at booking for this option. It's not cheap either! Another option is to dispose of your garbage at Pinecrest Transfer Station. It is located a few minutes from the cabin. Please check for days and times the transfer station is open.
■ Please don't move the furniture or appliances inside of the cabin or outside of the cabin.
■ In the event of a power outage, we have added battery-operated lights scattered throughout the cabin. They will work just like a regular light when you flip the switch on. I recommend you put your refrigerated item in the freezer.
■ We have CDC-guided cleaning processes that help ensure a safer stay. Items that can not be washed (sponges) are new for every visitor. Duvet covers, blankets, towels, sheets, rugs, and pillowcases are washed after each visit, and all items are wiped down. Bathrooms are thoroughly cleaned, and the whole cabin is mopped and vacuumed after each visit. I work with two local professional cleaners to assure high cleaning standards.
■ There's a portable crib for infants upstairs. Please bring your own blankets for the crib. I provide a sheet.
■ Please feel free to discuss any concerns you may have regarding "My Things to Note" prior to your visit. We're always willing to work with our guests.

Our family truly appreciates each guest, and we truly hope you enjoy your stay at Sugar Bear Cabin!

Lovely place to disconnect
This cabin is darling. The interior is what you would expect from a mountain cabin. The rooms are large and the beds quite comfortable. It’s perfect for a small group of 4, though it sleeps 6. It’s set back enough from other neighbors and set above the adjacent neighbor so it feels very private. The cabin has a a big beautiful deck that catches the morning sun and is a wonderful spot for enjoying morning coffee and for us, also breakfast. The location is great as it’s very close to Pinecrest Lake and the little town nearby. All within 10 minutes of the cabin. Be mindful that there are 70 steps to climb to get to the property. This was a surprise for us, but luckily manageable. The entrance is only accessible on one side of the property. I would not recommend this for persons with disabilities that make it hard to walk. I also would not recommend this for elderly people. Overall, it was a lovely stay.

Great cabin
Sugar Bear cabin was a great place to stay for nearby activities. We enjoyed the amenities the cabin offered, especially in regards to cooking and kitchen. A really great surprise was the stocked up game room, and various VHS tapes, along with a VCR. My partner and I watched Face Off, something we would not have done otherwise, and an amazing blast from the past. The game room was such a nice touch, as well. The beds were comfortable, and my partner and I both got a good night's sleep. The area itself is very isolated and noise-free, and beautiful. Our dog loved sniffing the various trees as we explored the yard together. The stairs are a bit of a pain but a great exercise, and the listing is 100% transparent regarding them. Overall, I would definitely recommend this to others, as long as you are not going with a big (5+ people) family or have any injuries that doesn't let you take the stairs. We will definitely be back in the future.

Amazing 53rd Birthday Getaway
For us this place was amazing! Not to mention our host was just as amazing. The cabin was cozy and had all of the necessities we needed to celebrate my birthday. The host was so quick to respond to any of my emails and also recommended things to do around the area like the Black Oak Casino where my husband won $800 whoo hoo! We will definitely be back again!

First time at Pinecrest
The property was in a nice area. The home at 70 stairs to climb to get to the entrance. This meant packing everything up a steep set of stairs multiple times to get food and luggage inside. This was not ideal and was not disclosed prior to our stay. Another thing to note is the renters must remove all their garbage or pay an additional fee to use the garbage service.

Perfect for family get-together & getaway near the river and lake
Everything in the cabin was thoughtfully set up for convenience and comfort. Comfortable beds and linens; soap, shampoo & conditioner in the bathrooms; a well-stocked coffee bar, condiments, spices and cookware if you like to cook some meals in. We especially enjoyed the large deck and seating for morning and evening relaxing. There are books and games available to add to your fun. The home is in a quiet neighborhood where we felt comfortable going on our morning runs. Very nearby is the Sugar Pine Railway trail for hiking and river play, and Pinecrest Lake is only minutes away. As another reviewer mentioned, there are quite a few stairs up to the cabin from the parking area. This was not a problem for us, but it is something to consider if anyone in your party is less fit or able. We loved our stay!

Nice spot
We were looking for a moderate elevation spot to acclimate for a couple of days en route to higher country and this was great. The young teens with us enjoyed the home and nearby Pinecrest Lake, host was communicative and provided suggestions for local hikes. One note: it's like 70 stairs from the driveway to the home, so if you're at all limited in mobility consider looking elsewhere!

Fresh mountain air with a view
Renee was helpful and responds quickly to any questions. Clean cabin, well stocked with all kitchen utensils and cute coffee bar and comfortable beds! Open windows in the late afternoon to get a slight breeze/cool down during hot days. Beautiful deck for hanging out and listening to the surrounding nature. Super close to the lake, about a 5 minute drive without road construction traffic. Lots of dvds and even VHSs (!) so fun for some 80s kids! Want to come back during the winter and experience the snow. The only thing… if you are not into stairs or do not do them well. This cute little place isn’t for you. There are 69 from the drive way to the deck. Great workout though!!

Hidden Gem
My husband and I had the best weekend visit at this cabin. While it was very charming inside with the natural wood finish and cabin feel we really enjoyed the upgraded appliances and furniture. There is a beautiful mountain view from every window. We caught a little snow and it felt like a winter wonderland. I would recommend this location to anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing weekend. Thank you Renee for opening up this lovely cabin for our short stay!
