THE HOUSE
This is a traditionally furnished, beautifully presented house tucked away down a quaint alley in the heart of Covent Garden. If you seek the exceptional and want the time you spend in London to be truly memorable, this house is the perfect choice. You can't fail to be charmed by every room, and delighted by how easy it is to reach so much of central London. So let's open the private front door, just around the corner from St Martin's Lane in Theatreland and take a look inside.
THE LIVING ROOM
Your front door from the street opens directly into this cozy room in which classic settees are arranged either side of a wooden coffee table and decorative fireplace. It's a room you'll simply love relaxing in. The books on the shelves, prints on the walls and rug on the floor all combine to make this the homeliest of spaces. And the quiet you'll enjoy will probably cause you to forget you're right in the centre of London. Staircases lead both upwards and downwards from the room, so let's head downstairs first.
THE DINING AREA
Shiny wooden floors across this space lend a real English country feel to an area that has a decorative brick fireplace and circular wooden dining table and chairs in its centre. This is the place to gather for snacks and meals, or perch for coffee in the mornings, or sit to enjoy games in the evenings. It also makes for a great work space if you need to stay in central London on business.
THE KITCHEN
Adjacent to the dining area, the kitchen is actually located under the street, so London life will be walking on by above you as you prepare snacks and meals in this beautiful kitchen. Discover classic cabinets on a chequered floor, plus all the high specification appliances you're likely to need to enjoy home-cooked food on those occasions you choose not to eat out at the vast array of restaurants that are literally on your doorstep.
THE SNUG
This is also under the Covent Garden street above and features a bright and gloriously comfortable corner sofa offering up views of the flatscreen TV. Its worth noting the framed posters in here, and on the top floor, feature the home owners uncle.
THE 3 BEDROOMS
Heading upstairs from the living room takes you to the trio of bedrooms. And, in keeping with the rest of the house, they are immaculately presented spaces. The master has a Kingszie with the two other bedrooms standard doubles. Whichever of the bedrooms you sleep in, you're sure of a great night's rest as the house blocks out most of the sounds you'd expect to hear when staying in central London.
THE BATHROOMS
The beauty and the tradition continues in the bathrooms, with modern showers standing alongside classic wash basins and WCs to make freshening-up ahead of a new day a real pleasure. Quality towels will be provided.
THE BALCONY
Have we saved the best until last? Quite possibly. Because, even though this is a central London house, you still get outside space to yourselves in the form of a balcony overlooking the rooftops of central London. There's a table and chairs out here where you can sit any time of day - perhaps for morning coffee, afternoon lunch and evening drinks (wine glasses are provided) and just enjoy being able to soak up the atmosphere of living in central London.
LAUNDRY
You have a tumble dryer stacked on top of a washing machine here in the house, so all your laundry needs can be handled at home. There's no need to hunt down the nearest launderette - useful if you are planning a longer term stay, or wish to wear some of the clothing you've brought with you more than once.
REMOTE WORKING
There's space in the snug, on the balcony and at the dining table for you to work. And of course, this being central London, you'll have a strong Wi-Fi service throughout the house.
THE LOCAL AREA
This apartment is located in one of the busiest, most popular areas of London. And yet the house gives you somewhere quiet and relaxing to escape from the hustle and bustle.
Staying here brings all of this (and more) within easy reach:
Leicester Square & Covent Garden
Discover boutiques, stores, restaurants, bars, pubs, coffee shops, nightclubs and casinos in these lively locations that attract and delight people from all over the world all year round.
Theatreland
If you've booked tickets for a West End show, you couldn't wish for a better place to stay. You're within easy walking distance of the vast majority of theatres, so getting to your seat and back (maybe via a restaurant) is really easy.
National Portrait Gallery
It's just around the corner from the house, so well worth a visit.
Royal Opera House and London Coliseum
Just two more of the major entertainment venues that are within easy reach of the house.
GETTING AROUND
Staying in the heart of London means you're spoilt for choice when it comes to transport options. You'll likely be able to walk or cycle pretty much everywhere you need to go during your stay. And you can always hire taxis or private cars via Uber if you prefer.
As regards public transport, there are plenty of bus routes to chose from as well as London Underground stations at Leicester Square and Covent Garden, both just a few minutes' walk away from your front door. Both stations are on the Piccadilly Line, which directly connects with Heathrow Airport and Knightsbridge (for Harrods) to the west, and King's Cross St Pancras (for Eurostar) in the opposite direction. Leicester Square is also served by Northern Line trains with connections to Clapham in the south and Camden Town to the north.
Charing Cross railway station is just to the south of the house, connecting you with various destinations across Southeast England, including Tunbridge Wells.
