This is a good value and a great proximity to Paddington. It is advisable to request an upper level room also because of of proximity to station.

Hotel was SUPER close to the Underground and Paddington train station. That made getting around London a breeze. Staff let us store our bags for free when we checked out. Check in and out was smooth. Rooms could use a bit of updating, but we had no major complaints.

We had an okay stay at Shakespeare Hotel. Didn't feel very welcomed by staff, room was tiny and clean enough but felt quite old and stuffy. Location was good!

It is 5 min walk from Paddington station However when I was stranded by the fire at Heathrow March 21, they gouged me for the hotel by charging $402.25 CAD for the same room I had stayed in for three nights at $141.00 per night

Worked out great for my friends and I for our first time in London. 3 of us total. Small room and bathroom but it wasn't a problem. You can hear the trains going under the hotel but it's just a low rumble. We slept with a sound machine but I don't think it would have bothered me even if we didn't have one. It was a great stay and super close to Paddington station. I would definitely recommend!

The Shakespeare was ideal for my one night stay in London, being conveniently close to Paddington Station. The staff were helpful and the room was clean with comfortable bed and good shower.
