Unsafe and unsanitary
The pictures show a well-kept apartment; they couldn't be further from the truth.
The biggest issue is the exposed wiring in both shower areas, the result of missing lightbulbs. Loose wires dangle dangerously close to the water. Other loose wires pose a tripping hazard. Lighting is substandard with missing lighbulbs in numerous fixtures.
Water is the other issue. Cold water pressure was almost non-existent throughout our stay. The property details suggest this is equal to substandard wifi, a lousy excuse if you're renting to four people who would like a simple bath or shower. Often, the cold water faucets could produce little more than a drip-drip-drip. Hot water was lacking (despite following the host's instructions to venture into a dirty boiler room to adjust the temperature).
Other issues:
-The second-floor shower drain was clogged and water overflowed across the floor.
-Almost every door sticks and requires a hard slam to close.
-I was unable to close two windows.
-The kitchen counter and exhaust are coated with a heavy layer of grease.
-The living room sofa cushion is ripped open.
Overall, there is a general level of crumminess that one should not expect in a property priced at this leveI. I complained to the host, who replied, "In description, we do note the apartment is not suited to every guest."
I imagine that means guests who don't care about safety and sanitation.
Also, the kitchen has no spatula - the least of my complaints, but c'mon...
