Mohammed keeps an excellent property. This place is affordable, clean, and just far enough from the center of town but close to train and bus stations. Perfect for traveling without a car. Tatiana keeps the place immaculate. I’d book again. I’ve booked twice.

I would definitely stay here again. A lot for your money. Super close to public transport. Just not the "prettiest" of neighborhoods. It mostly gets guests who are coming for shows at the venue across the street. Crossing the street is an advenutre in risk taking.

My stay at Marlin

This was my 2nd stay at Marlin, and the alluring reason to select Marlin is due to the super comfortable and convenient rooms that are offered. Optimally priced as well!, close to public transit systems like the DLR station. I was a bit disappointed this time though with the demeanor of the front office staff. Arrived a little before 3pm. Was asked to wait for another 30 minutes. Took a stroll & came back at 3pm, but was again asked to wait for some more time.

Let’s start with the pros: the room we initially were given was dark and was without hot water. They were able to come fix the hot water quickly and after we requested they moved us to a nicer room with more light/windows. The initial room was also right on the street and the only window opened up to the street outside so that wasn’t going to be an option for safety and privacy reasons. I appreciated how quickly they came to fix the hot water and that they allowed us to switch rooms. The second room had more mirrors, the bedside tables were far more spacious, the bathroom was nice as it had windows, the fridge was full size, and it was great to have a kitchenette and utensils/cups etc. We also liked that we had to buzz in to get to the second room (more privacy). There is a Sainsbury’s and Two Magpies cafe on the corner which was super convenient Cons: The area is, in a word, bad. Expect graffiti, trash about + run down stores. A big reason we wanted to book at this property was the washer and dryer. Unfortunately the dryer doesn’t work. In both rooms we had issues and especially the second room the drying was just not an option. There are also no outlets in the bathrooms which meant we had to buy an extension cord in order to use a blow dryer/straightener. Just a note to foreign travelers and not a knock on the property at all- while it is close in miles to many site and attractions it is very far time wise. It usually took about 45 minutes to get anywhere of interest.
