Gorgeous 2 bed flat in Barons Court - designed

Summary:
High-speed Internet, Private Garden, No shared spaces. If you like the finer things in life then I think you are going to love it here. My apartment has been completely newly designed and refurnished by a local interior designer. My place is on a quiet gentrified road with access to the food markets and vegan restaurants of North End road. It is 8 minutes walk to both Barons Court (runs 24hr) & West Ken tube Stations.

The Space:
High-speed Internet, Private Patio, No shared spaces. You'll have the whole apartment to yourself. Welcome to my home and welcome to this amazing city! This is a 2 bedroom 1.5 bathroom apartment which has been recently furbished to a very high standard by a local interior design team. But don't take my word for it... let me walk you through it a little more!

The apartment has a really spacious and colourful living room which has some really cool design features (and a feature mural wall). There is a comfy sofa and an additional armchair for guests to use where you can put your feet up in the evenings, kick back and relax! Fancy an evening off? Then sit back, relax and turn on the flat screen TV. There are plenty of smart channels for you to enjoy. We recently installed an Amazon Echo Show (smart speaker, it is designed around Amazon's virtual assistant Alexa). The living area is also home to the dining area, which is the perfect spot to enjoy some local delicacies.
The apartment has mod-cons such as toaster, kettle and dishwasher that you might expect. We really want to ensure that you have a comfortable stay here in London!

There are two double bedrooms in the house. Both bedrooms have unique design features and bold dark colours. We really wanted to make the rooms unique! There is also plenty of storage space for guests to store all their belongings. Along with the new Sofa bed and full sized mattress we can sleep six persons.

Finally, the property also benefits from 1.5 bathrooms (by that I mean that there is a full bathroom with an overhead shower and a separate shower). The bathroom is bright and contemporary in style and will always come stocked with plenty of white fluffy towels.

The apartment comes with a clothes washer, dishwasher, iron and ironing board, so that you can look fresh for exploring the city or for any business meetings! A baby cot can be provided upon request.

There are also all the mod-cons such as toaster, kettle and we have the latest lightning fast broadband and 4k HDR TV.

Guest Access:
The apartment is your own. access on the ground floor directly to the rear of the building. Private patio Garden. No shared spaces. Cleaned professionally with fresh luxury linens, it's prepared for each new visitor.

The Neighborhood:
located towards the west of the city. If you are flying into Heathrow, then the flat is very easy to get to - just hop on the Piccadilly line at the airport and within 35 mins you will be at Barons Court station.

The area is residential but also close to London great exhibition centre - the Kensington Olympia, both walking distance from the flat.

Of course not everything is about business here as there many excellent pubs and restaurants where you can unwind and relax! Curtain Up is a cracking local boozer located around the corner from the flat. They serve lovely ales and great food all day long.

North End Road as a selection of small and inexpensive cafes and restaurants. Cafe Continente was voted the best and they serve a full English breakfast here. C'est Ici is another cafe where you can pick up some coffee before setting out for sightseeing. 222 Vegan offers award winning vegan food on north end road and the markets are a traditionally unique experience a little further up.

Smith's Cocktail Lounge, hidden under Brook Green Hotel is a fun place to go for a late night drink and feels a little like a speak easy as its hidden down the stone steps. Captain Cook has lots of different ales/drinks with a very British feel.

Kanna Thai serves amazing Thai food. Kerbisher and Malt is an award winning fish and chip shop at the bottom of Brook Green. Colton Arms just around the corner is a really traditional English pub and also does amazing food.

There are two laundrettes in the immediate vicinity.

Tinto is a traditional cafe piled high with cakes, pastries and chalk board with daily specials and every type of coffee you can think of. On the corner with outside seating. Parparellu is a lovely cafe serving traditional pastries, food and good coffee with a Maltese twist.

Supermarkets: There is a huge Tesco between Baron's Court and Earls Court with free parking. On North End Road there is a Little Waitrose and Tesco Express just 5 mins walk away near West Kensington station.

Brook Green is a long shaded green park between the traditional townhouses of West London. Equipped with friendly spaces for dogs, cycle paths, 4 tennis courts and a big jungle gym for children. Also a great area for pubs: Queen's Head in the middle on west side of park, and Brook Green Hotel Pub.

If shopping is your thing then here is a top tip - you can get some really really nice stuff at High Street Kensington and Knightsbridge and still beat the crowds that throng Oxford Circus and Bond Street. I would high recommend going to High Street Kensington as it is much less stressful.

If you are looking for the "big" sights such as the Big Ben, Parliament and Westminster Abbey then you are lucky. The flat is a great base to get to these places. Just hop on the underground and you will be there in 15 mins.

If you are after more cerebral matters then head to South Kensington for the museums such as the Natural History and V&A. The world famous Royal Albert Hall is located here and tickets can be bought on the day of a performance early in the morning.

Getting Around:
My place is equidistant to both Barons Court tube station and West Kensington tube station. Both are less than a ten minute walk in either direction.

There are also plenty of buses in the area, which are a great way of travelling if you like to have a peek at your surroundings as you travel.

A great local tip is to download the Citymapper app. This free app will plan your journey for you efficiently and quickly. It gives you a variety of different transport options such as bike, rail, tube and Uber taxi. It will also take you step by step through your journey as you travel and notify you when you are nearing your destination.

Disgusting! Dishonest People!

I booked this place because the pictures look as if the place is in top-condition and the amenities modern, new, designer and well-cared for. I arrived to a dump!!! It was disgusting--smelly, dirty, old-dated furniture and the bathroom did not even look anything like the pictures they posted here. The bathroom even had mold in it! I was forced to leave immediately as my children were disgusted by it and one of my children would have been extremely sick if exposed to mold. When I stated this to the person who came to unlock the apartment, he tried to pretend that all he did was open the door. I contacted these people by email. They tried to turn the situation against me--as if it was my fault I was not giving them a chance to "correct" the situation, as if people who go on vacation should be giving them a chance to honor what they advertise because they did not. Ridiculous and dishonest! Luckily I got my money back. I fought for it, but I got it back! This place looks nothing like the pictures. Be aware.

8/10 Good

Good Accommodation, Great Location, only minor niggles

Stayed for 3 nights mid-week in late October 2017. A nice ground floor apartment in a small relatively new building next to a quiet church. Hostmaker was there to meet & greet us at the agreed time. There was no noticeable noise from any neighbours or the road which is great, in fact over 3 days we didn't even see any neighbours. The location is very good in a nice area not too far from Central London. It really is a 10 minute walk (even for the kids) to either Barons Court or West Kensington tube stations both of which we used and both have some fantastic cafes close to them for breakfast (see C'est Ici for croissants/coffee and Bonjour brioche for amazing breakfasts). The apartment itself is a good size and layout, we were a family of four and there was plenty of room. The two bedrooms are very nice and have good beds and lighting. The living room opens to a end kitchen area. The kitchen area was in great condition, with all facilities you would need and a is good size. The living room has a comfortable large sofa and large smart TV and thare is a dining table. Couldn't get digital TV working so not sure if that's connected to an ariel but got Netflix on. Wifi was provided. Bathroom is large and is for the most part (toilet & bath) in great condition. Even loo rolls were provided. All clean linen of a good standard was provided. The whole apartment is underfloor heated and if anything it was too good and extremely warm. I couldn't find a manual for the room stats/controllers so had to download one on my phone and they are not straight forward to adjust. I suggest homemaker leave instructions in the apartment. Our only niggles (quite minor & didn't raise them as we were only there 3 nights) : a) The separate shower tray and sides desperately need to be re-silicone sealed as it's detached on the tray and going very mouldy. b) Carpets in the entrance & living room are slightly marked in many small areas. They are light cream coloured. Carlos who we met on arrival did ask us to remove shoes which we had no problem with. Perhaps a deep clean would remove the marks. There was tiny evidence of pink nail polish or similar by the sofa. c) The lovely wallpaper on the living room feature wall is unfortunately starting to peel away from the wall at the seams. Next time use better paste! This won't take two minutes to fix. d) The patio area vegetation is overgrown and needs cutting back so it's a useful Patio/French door to open on to the world.
