Inconsistent listing ; condescending host
The apartment is on 3rd floor and lift was broken but I wasn't told till I was checking in. The host offered to help with moving luggage anytime we needed to as I mentioned I would be doing a lot of movement with children settling into school .
I would have managed but got into the apartment and realised the swimming pool was out of order too! I’d made specific inquiries about this before moving in as it was a determining factor for booking in the first place and I was told there was a pool and general coffee station. This wasn’t true .
When I mentioned, the host claimed she had no idea the pool was out of order. Weird for someone who didnt tell me about lift either.
The description said quiet/ family friendly. No lift, no pool ,no functional playground and there’s a multi subway/ train track right by the bedroom windows . When I mentioned the noise to the host , she said it was just a goods track not underground . Until I sent pictures/videos . Again, I found that really weird.
She then said no one else complained about it.
When I mentioned feeling hoodwinked , she became condescending - talking about turning 60 and being 'too old for this'
I asked for a replacement but she kept offering less appealing/inappropriate properties.
I tried reaching VRBO several times for a refund/replacement-i wasn’t attended to till 3wks after. I was forced to stay!
The checkout experience was the worst and her messages to me after were emotionally charged.
Terrible experience.
