Bad experience
After enduring a disappointing stay at the Pelican Hotel in Lomé, I am compelled to express my sentiments on the matter. Despite receiving assurances of a seamless reservation process, I was dismayed to discover upon arrival that the room I had reserved was unavailable due to an error on the hotel's part. This initial setback left me feeling frustrated and inconvenienced, especially considering the proactive steps I had taken to confirm the reservation beforehand. Despite my refusal of alternative accommodations and insistence on either receiving the originally booked room or a refund, I was eventually provided a different room. However, this room was purportedly an 'upgrade' for the entirety of my stay, yet it came with an undisclosed price if we wished to retain it beyond the first night. This lack of transparency and failure to uphold the initial booking left me feeling misled. Moreover, I found the overall professionalism of the staff lacking (precisely the sales manager) and the noise levels were intolerable due to a wedding taking place within the hotel premises. Additionally, the absence of a paved pathway to the hotel further detracted from the overall experience. In my assessment, the Pelican Hotel fails to meet the standards expected of reputable accommodations and falls short in delivering a satisfactory guest experience.
