"If you want seclusion away from the hustle and bustle, this is the place. Away from the main road, but with access to great lookouts and hiking paths! The property is a bit old but the staff care for it how they can. Expect waning luxury, but clean and livable rooms. It gets cold in the winter so bring some fluffy PJs. Staff is helpful and pleasant. Sometimes the jabalí show up--one was there during dinner. "

"A beautiful hotel in a stunning location. The service from staff has been exemplary, with particular regard for David (in the restaurant) and Sequoia (uncertain spelling, on reception). They, and others have been great advisers to first-time visitors. Other staff were excellent in minor interactions. Our only complaint would be about the delay with check-in procedures, but that was soon dismissed by us. We will be back... E​ven fellow clients are worthy of mention, particularly Dermot and Patricia from Leinster, Ireland "

"Had the most incredible stay at Cabana De Piedra! I stayed recently with my friends for our 30th birthday celebration. It was so perfect. The villa is in the most incredible remote location in the mountains. The views are spectacular and so dreamy! The villa was perfect for a big group, had everything we needed and was spotless. The owner, Miguel, was Very friendly and helped our taxis get to the villa, as well as the chef we had arranged. The villa is remote so you need to bear that in mind when booking anything or if you’re planning on leaving the villa. We stayed at the villa the entire weekend so it wasn’t an issue for us. Taxis managed to get there too, with a bit of guidance. Had an unforgettable weekend and would come back! "

"The location is excellent and view is just stunning! We could end the review there, however we would be doing the villa a disservice. The villa is inviting, beautiful, modern, clean and has all the amenities you need to make you instantly feel at home. The pool was very inviting and a bonus on a hot day…. of which there were many! The location is great, you have easy access to at least four villages within a 15 minute drive, Cómpeta being the largest. All are worth a visit as there are some excellent restaurants in Árchez, Canillas de Albaida and Cómpeta. Although some of the reviews mention the challenging access road to the villa, we were not too concerned as we have encountered worse. When you arrive at the villa and check out the view it is so worth it, and at night it is transformed once again, the sky is beautiful and the stars are plentiful. Gary, Carl and the preparation team were excellent and worked hard to accommodate our changing travel plans, for which we are so grateful. The pictures do not do the villa justice. We are already looking to book again for June 2025."

"We had an amazing stay for 10days .. was nice to be close to Malaga yet out enough to have peace and quiet. The children loved the pool and having no neighbours meant we did not have to worry about their noise. We saw wildlife and would watch the gecko’s at night. Owners are amazing and friendly.. definitely recommended the house for anyone who wants to be off the grid!!!"
