We loved staying in the Tee Pee at the Morels on the Wabash! It was our first experience camping in several years and we had a great time. We were a little disappointed that the river was very low, so it did not look quite like the pictures advertised; however, we realized that was out of Ed's control. Once the traffic slowed up on the nearby road, it was pretty tranquil with the sounds of the crickets and cicadas and an owl. Overall, it was definitely a wonderful weekend!
We have previously stayed at a cabin that Edward also has at the Morels on the Wabash. This time we also had this teepee, which is new since last year. There is a comfortable bed for two (like what you would expect in a regular house, not camping) as well as a rollaway type bed for another person. Very comfortable.
This is a teepee, so you have to have some sense of adventure (and hopefully that’s why you would choose this spot!). There is an enclosed outdoor shower as well as a clean outhouse nearby. The teepee sits on a deck with a hot tub and picnic table. You have a small fridge and place to wash up inside, but not a kitchen. You do have all supplies for cooking on the grill. There’s no AC of course, so it may be a little warm in the heat of the summer.
This is a beautiful spot, right alongside the Wabash River. Edward has tons of stuff for you to entertain yourself with - kayak, canoe, fish, cornhole, archery, hammocks, etc. and is a great host. Fresh herbs and lettuce growing in a little garden for you to use, beverages in the fridge, snacks ready, bottle of wine on ice when we arrived and a fire going…. We will look forward to coming back to see the place in a different season!
