The house was recently remodeled and was very attractive and clean. Beds were comfortable. Twin bunk bed is probably best for youth. There are four stools for counter eating and an outdoor picnic table. The living room has two recliner couches and a large screen tv. There was a picture leaning against the wall, so we assume more decorating will happen as it is pretty basic right now. We had to use a button on the back of the TV to toggle through the menu and choices. (Owner has been notified of issue with remote.) No extra hospitality items such as coffee or salt/pepper were available and no community activities, restaurant recommendations or other information was provided in unit, perhaps due to newness of property.
Unfortunately, we encountered multiple issues with the water throughout the weekend ranging from highly restricted flow (trickle) to dark orange/brown sludge coming from the tap. The owner made several attempts to fix the situation and indicated that he planned to have a plumber assess the property after we left and that he suspected he would need to get a water softener to deal with high iron levels. He was unconcerned with the water being used for showers or dish washing, and told us to use bottled drinking water. At times the water was so brown you couldn't see the bottom of the toilet bowl (yuck!). While the owner did try to resolve the issues, we simply cannot give a positive review given the inability to shower and drink water over our stay and the constant need to communicate back and forth with the owner on our vacation. We acknowledge that we were the first renters and the property was new to the owner, but believe that the water issue should have been identified and resolved prior to listing the property as available and we are disturbed that the owner’s response was to argue that the water was usable. We would caution renters to anticipate the need for bringing bottled drinking water and inquire about the clarity of water for cooking, showering, dish washing, etc. prior to booking.
