Loved the atmosphere! The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were invited to participate in a fund raising trivia contest and enjoyed ourselves immensely as we were made to feel most welcome,

Stands on own 5mins from Lochgilphead
Friendly staff, good breakfasts and selection of malts
Very convenient location on quiet road. Nice room, comfortable beds, and view. Good breakfast. Nearest restaurants to hotel are 6 miles away but Hotel Argyll worth the drive for dinner.
Looks very dated when turned up: paint peeling off, very outdated, hardly anyone there in the middle of summer, water didn't get hot, so couldn't have a bath, dead midgies in towel (although otherwise clean), place boiling and bed uncomfortable: sloped off at edges, so nearly fell out twice and didn't sleep well.
Guy was friendly and breakfast good

Very good service
Ideal location to catch the ferry to Islay the following day.
Fawlty towers mentality from one of those owners that makes you think - why bother??????. Potentially nice hotel that owner has had for 5 years but left in a bit of a state. Could be much much more - but isn't. Owner sarcy and unhelpful. Every request greeted with a sigh before an answer. Bedroom clean if old fashioned. My advice? Keep on the short distance to Lochgilphead!

good service
good quality of service, room ok however noisy during night due to road traffic.
My husband and I had a lovely time and the staff were very helpful. The hotel needs a little TLC but the owner is doing it a little at a time which we felt was great. would definitely stay there again.

Nice friendly hotel.
Owner really friendly. Nice location. Pleasant hotel bar. Room was fine and pretty comfortable. Great value for money.
Lovely hotel, proprietor was very nice & welcoming. Food was excellent. Room was clean, modern, comfortable & cozy. Wifi was very good throughout hotel. We would stay here again if we are in the area.
We only stayed one night but had a very enjoyable dinner (the steak pie received rave reviews) and the hosts set us up for a self-serve early morning breakfast since we had to leave around 6:00 a.m. to catch the early ferry to Islay. It was a clean friendly homey place that met our expectations and suited us perfectly. We would stay there again.

BEAUTIFUL LOCATION
Hotel looked 'tired' although the owner is working on it. The room we had would have been suited to hostelers (bunk beds) but as we were only staying one night the room suited our needs. Hotel is situated in a stunning area of Scotland with some beautiful walks and biking routes. Im not sure we would stay again as there was no information given regarding meals or entertainment etc. Im sure we paid for breakfast but because we were unaware of details we left without having anything to eat.
Pete the landlord is completely hands on from welcoming you at reception to serving drinks at the bar as well as waiting at the dining table. He is a tireless host who cannot do enough to make your stay a trouble free and happy one.

Away from it all !
Staff very helpful and friendly . Hotel room clean and comfortable ,teas and coffee topped up.
Breakfast freshly cooked for each person.
Did hear traffic in early morning . Overall we spent a very enjoyable two nights at
Lochgair Hotel ,would stay there again .
The 'hotel' was closed over lunch time. I had arranged to meet a person travelling, like me for 2 hours +. He had to wait outside in the car park because it was closed. Why? Because people would use the toilets! A hotel must be open. I booked in because I presumed it would be open for lunch etc. I would not have stayed otherwise.
The dining room had 3 broken panes of glass, one a hole of a cm width. The shower could not be made to work; I did not get a shower during my stay. The building looks good until you look carefully: the window frames need paint; are rotting.
The breakfast was ordinary. There were very few staff: I saw only two.
I do not think it is run as a hotel should be. There are conference rooms: they were promisiing; but full of rubbish. This is in a very nice village between two centres and should be a great place. Probably, there is not enough trade. If it were well run and had really good cooking it would be a great asset, valued, to which many would come.
I could not get the tv to work. No instructions. I could not find my room because there was no light switch and the hall was in darkness. This is not a welcoming hotel.
