Lovely Cottage with Stunning Views
Delightful cottage on loch edge. Very clean and cosy (we were constantly turning down the heating despite the weather being “dreich”) with hot water on demand. The cottage, was very well equipped. We chose Lochearnhead as being ideally placed to walk sections of the Rob Roy Way and - with two cars -this proved to be the case. We had a wonderful week and would highly recommend both the cottage and the location.

We had a lovely week at Castleview West.
We had a lovely week at Castleview West. I'll start with the small, not hugely important niggly things. For more than 5 people the living room would need one of the chairs from the conservatory bringing in which isn't a huge deal but they're not as comfortable as a sofa. The addition of an armchair might be beneficial here for larger parties. Also the sofas are sofa beds and seem relatively old, when you sit on the 2 seater it starts to open up and we had to keep getting up and pushing it back in. The bath mat didn't look in great condition and possibly not freshly washed, obviously not a huge deal. It also would be been nice to have information on local attractions in the welcome book as it only had maps in. On the advert it said there was a PS2 but if there was we couldn't find it anywhere. On to the good. The cottage is spacious, we went as a family of 5, 2 grown up kids and a young child and there was plenty of room so that we didn't get under each other's feet. It has everything you need; excellent wifi that supported multiple devices, washer, drier, iron, all necessary pots, pans, cutlery etc. Although we took our own things like washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, laundry pods were also available as well as essentials such as teabags, coffee, salt, pepper, cooking oil, tin foil etc, which was great. The stairs are steep but I noticed a stair gate in the utility room, we didn't use it but it's a great option for those with small children. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the bedding was great quality. The views, oh wow the views. Just out of this world! We saw ospreys flying right in front of the cottage numerous times. What a location! The private loch access was fantastic as we came to realise that there isn't really anywhere to pull up the car and get to the side of the majority of the lochs we visited/passed; the land is generally owned by hotels/private residences/private fishing clubs etc etc. On a couple of occasions we heard families walking past and once they'd seen the "private" sign they moved on to try and find another route to the shore. Yes there is a relatively busy road separating the cottage and the loch but it doesn't spoil the view or ruin the experience. Overall an amazing stay in a wonderful cottage! The cottage was excellent, totally clean tidy and fully equipped some previous visitors had commented in the memory book about being cold but we found it extremely warm and very comfortable. Situated centrally and easy to drive too, with good road connections it was very easy to tour round. The area was very picturesque and very relaxing. We will be visiting this cottage again and would recommend it very highly.

It has the best views but unfortunately you can only enjoy from inside unless it's sunny or no rain This was my second year and second stay and both times I had issues with boiler and getting in to cottage due to access code of key box. Cottage is clean from inside only I love the views so I booked it again but given the issues I had I don't want to come back unless things are improved also the price is even more than double compare to other time of the year is another unfortunate for someone who saves whole year for such holidays. Overall location and sightseeing around are such things I would always love revisiting. Be carful with stairs which are going to first floor are not wide enough for full feet had my daughter slipped badly.

Very nice house in a good position. Handy for lochs and walks as well as being within reasonable driving distance of Stirling, Perth and Glasgow. The main road was a bit of a surprise and quite busy at times.

A clean and well equipped cottage with a view over the loch and mountains.
A clean and well equipped cottage with a view over the loch and mountains. For some reason we could only find one egg cup and there was no salt and pepper set. It should also be noted to the owners that the key lock took us about 20 minutes to open with no clear instruction of how to. When we left we could not replace the key in the safe and had to leave it in the door. We are experienced with operating this type of lock and feel it should be noted for future clients
