"El Monestir de Les Avellanes is truly a unique place. It is steeped in history yet it offers all modern conveniences in an unhurried way. The rooms are spacious, the beds extremely comfortable and cleanliness is utmost The sense of peace and quiet permeating the building and the cloister make for a very relaxed stay. "Impressively poor in so many ways. We only took it as a last resort, and you should have the same approach. Room door almost impossible to open because rubbed on floor - and that was AFTER they sent us to the wrong floor to find the room. No internet because "it's too weak to work there". Dangerously broken steps to rear balcony/patio, which was too overgrown to use anyway. See photo. Basically this is a dormitory-style place for young foolish skiiers and not much else."
