"This hotel exceeded our expectations - we stayed there for 6 nights. Very clean, with modern fixtures and a large shower with good water pressure. The room itself was quite small with not much closet space to unpack our things (e.g., no dresser drawers), but that was the sole disappointment. The daily breakfast down in the taverna was unbelievable (at least for north americans like us used to the crappy "continental breakfast" in American hotels) - we ate so well every morning we usually didn't need lunch. The hotel is easy walking distance from most major tourist sites, except the farthest-flung ones like Sagrada Familia and The National Palace, but we even walked to those. If you are not that ambitious there is a metro station 5 min from the hotel. As others have mentioned, the staff were extremely courteous and accommodating - very professional. "

"We loved our stay at Grand Hyatt Barcelona! Beginning from the wonderful welcome at front desk from Clara, and continuing to the lovely breakfast and spa facilities, we couldn’t have chosen a better location for our short city break. Our hotel room had lovely mod cons making our stay comfortable and the area was accessible being relatively close to the airport (20 mins) and easily accessible to tourist sites by taxi, metro and bus. The cleanliness of this hotel is to be noted. All requests we had were swiftly resolved and the staff should really be applauded - from the door men to the waiters and waitresses in the restaurants and the cleaners - everyone was courteous and helpful. Thank you for a wonderful stay! "

"The Hotel Lamaro is an absolute gem! It is on a large pedestrian square, directly opposite the Barcelona Cathedral which we had a view of from the room’s balcony. The entire place is immaculate and our room was spacious and well set up. Although some of the furnishings (such as upholstered chairs in the halls need to be replaced), the rest of the hotel was recently and tastefully redone. We had breakfast as part of our room rate and the buffet was fabulous. There is a rooftop bar/restaurant with a view of the cathedral which was wonderful. But the best part about the hotel was the staff: truly exceptional!! Friendly, helpful, professional. If you’re looking for a place to stay in the Gothic Quarter, you can’t miss with the Hotel Lamaro!"

"Me and my mate really enjoyed our stay here at Occidental! We were in Barcelona for the Half Marathon and this hotel was the perfect place to relax and rewind after our long days. We were offered complimentary champagne on arrival and check in was super smooth. The pool and spa facilities were fantastic, really adding that extra recovery and comfort to our stay. The buffet breakfast was so great with a variety of different food options. To finish off the room was very tidy/clean and the beds were very comfy indeed! Staff were super helpful, we will definitely return sometime soon."
