Enjoy the Litchfield Hills from this newly renovated one bedroom apartment with private entrance. Amenities include full kitchen, living room, bedroom with queen bed, and full en suite bathroom. WiFi and cable TV included. All located less than 2 miles from historic Litchfield Center. Our property borders on the White Memorial Foundation nature preserve, with over 40 miles of hiking trails. Mohawk Mountain Ski area in Cornwall and Ski Sundown in New Hartford are only a short drive away.

Located in the town of Litchfield, the Hideway offers a comfortable place from which you can explore all that Litchfield County has to offer. Here you will find great restaurants, vineyards, shopping, antiques and galleries, all in the beautiful town of Litchfield. The surrounding countryside offers the outdoor enthusiast access to local lakes, rivers, trails and ski areas. Steeped in Colonial history, Litchfield's historic attractions include the picturesque Village Green, First Congregational Church, Tapping Reeve Law School (first in the United States and attended by Aaron Burr and John C. Calhoun), and the home of Oliver Wolcott, signer of the Declaration of Independence. Located close to area private schools and event venues, this is the perfect place to stay when visiting town for weddings and school events.

The Hideaway had everything I needed for my stay to include a pizza place in front where I was able to get some much needed food after a long road race. Easy check in and great communication with the owners. Highly recommend!

Lovely, cozy spot
This property is wonderful and has friendly and helpful owners. Very quiet and peaceful and tucked in the trees. It is very spacious, clean, and had everything we needed. Loads of hiking and outdoor opportunities just minutes away, as well as wineries and restaurants. The pizza at the attached shop was good as well—a nice bonus!

Hideaway is the perfect name.
What a charming place. Very clean and well appointed little place. Feels like a cottage in the woods but close to many things to do. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with everything you might need to cook in. My favorite was the large spa-like bathroom and the screened in front porch, the perfect place to read or nap.

The Hideaway "Perfect Name"
"The Hideaway" could not have a more perfect name. It is charmingly hidden away behind a strip of stores and you won't be disappointed. It's nicely appointed, clean, cozy screened in porch, comfortable bed, beautiful bathroom! The hosts, Rick and Jean were great and made themselves available should I need anything. I would definitely go back again. Lovely place!!

Convenient and Cozy ‘Hideaway’
Great property. Clean, comfortable, welcoming and well set up with everything you might need. Very accessible to surrounding areas and sights while feeling like your in a little cottage in the woods. Don’t be put off that it’s behind a little plaza. You won’t really notice and being easily able to get a pizza or pastry is bonus that you otherwise wouldn’t have considered!

Very well-appointed and close to walking trails
The unit is very well-appointed and comfortable, and Rick is a gracious host. The setting is a bit unusual, with the unit being between the back of a row of shops and the hosts' house, but that actually works out quite well, providing nice privacy, and the shop building shelters the unit from the road noise. The unit is also only a block from the White Conservation area, so you can get nice walks in without ever moving your car.
