Terrible service
I’ve rarely had such a bad experience with a hotel. I arrived there just after 10pm and despite having them on the phone at 9:30pm to tell them I am on my way and will be there at 10:15pm, no one was there to open the door. I called them again at the door and they refused to come and help. I had to take another hotel. Considering I had prepaid in full I found this incredibly outrageous and I am currently making a claim against them.

Personal stay in old beautiful building. The breakfast was amazing and you could tell they wanted you to have a pleasant stay. The only negative was that it’s a bit worn, which you can’t tell in the pictures.

Cheese & Wine, for that personal touch
Cheese & Wine is a beautifully renovated period property, with high stucco ceillings, well insulated windows making the rooms very quiet and with charming, inside shutters keeping the light out for as long as you want in the morning. The rooms are indivudually designed and accessed by a personal code - no keys needed;-)! Breakfast is served either indoors or on the patio at the back and there is plenty to choose from on the breakfast form, to be handed in to the kitchen the day before. The staff is very friendly and every evening there were small cookies - probably handmade - waiting for us in our room, always accompanied by a written greeting either in English or Swedish - a really nice touch! The hotel is situated within easy walking distance of Time Out Market and metro station Cais do Sodre and the yellow tram 28 has stops quite close by. Summing up, Cheese & Wine is an absolute gem and strongly recommended!

Lovely apartment, great location and really helpful friendly staff. Nice touch to be given a glass of wine and cheese. I will definitely stay here again when next in Lisbon.

Super accueil, petite attentions tous les soirs très agreable. Super petit déjeuner !! Merci à la jeune fille qui nous a accueilli le 15/08 vers 16h30 17h et au monsieur qui veillait au petit dejeuner, très agreable, faisant de son mieux pour nous satisfaire malgré notre changement de dernière minute. Cadeau d'arrivée, un petit plateau de fromage et de vin 😁😍 Petit bemol pour la salle de bain. Wc trop bas et baignoire peu pratique, on met facilement de l'eau partout. Je recommande! Prix hyper attractif pour l'emplacement et les prestation. L'emplacement est pas mal non plus. Pratique pour rejoindre les principaux sites à decouvrir (environ 20 min pour aller jusque la place du commerce).

A really great stay! We had to self check in and the communication and management of this process was excellent. Very helpful instructions. The room is really nice and very clean. Breakfast is really good and includes fresh food. Staff are very helpful. Location is great with lots of restaurants and coffee houses very close by. Highly recommended to stay here

This has to be your #1 choice when choosing accommodation in Lisbon. Easily accessible by public transport - especially Cais do Sodré railway and Metro station - it is relatively close to Mercado da Ribeira (Time Out Market) and the bohemian Bairro Alto neighbourhood. The accommodation itself is full of character and little touches, such as sweet treats delivered to the room every evening, made out stay even more special

El concepto está muy bien, la ubicación en una zona muy segura y con muchos restaurantes chulos. Esta la parada del tranvía 24 al lado. La recepción termina a las 18:00 y complica el check in.

The UK has Portugal on the no travel list TAP cancelled our flight. The Hotel refused a refund even though we said we would book an extended stay next year. It may be lovely but book at your own risk

The hotel was excellent with unique bespoke rooms in a good location to enjoy Lisbon. The staff were brilliant and couldn't do enough for you to enjoy your stay at the hotel and our visit to Lisbon. It was really the nice little touches like the nightly cakes/biscuits left in your room on a personalized platter and the complimentary cheese and wine we had on our arrival. The breakfast buffet was really good and one of the best we have had staying in Europe. Lots of homemade and freshly prepared food every morning. The one very slight criticism was probably the sound proofing in the rooms, you could hear other guests but honestly apart from that, loved it.

Our experience with Cheese & Wine in Lisbon is unfortunately quite poor. It's far removed from what you see in the pictures. The family room is dark (one corner of the building overlooking another room 2-3m away) with no sunlight and the state of the bathroom is frankly disgusting. It stank of sewage and the bathtub curtains were mouldy among other things. The hotel management accepted the state of the rooms were far from acceptable and whilst the Manager (Bruna) was kind and felt for us and tried to fix the situation (we were told to keep the Bathroom window open and were presented with an additional scented diffuser)- it was beyond her in some ways. They do need to fix the set up in the bathroom. I hope while selling the property, they are more transparent about the actual state and condition of the room.
