"Basic hotel that's well run by enthusiastic people, and with great breakfast - much better than others in price range. The rooms are spartan but have what you need and it was clean, new, had convenient parking and was close to stores and major roads. Had a wonderful view of vineyard-covered hills. Would certainly stay again. Many of the people staying were from businesses and companies, which is a good sign. "

"Probably the friendliest, most chilled hotel I've ever stayed in. Staff couldn't do enough for you and always very welcoming. The hotel is a beautiful, 16th century building in the old town centre, which is amazing. I was in a room which faced to road so, sometimes, it could be rather noisy, but the streets are very narrow and it's an old building. Only issue I had was a lack of hot water in the evening but it wasn't a major problem. A 2 star hotel which makes up for it in many other ways."

"The hotel is very suitable for anyone travelling from the UK by road to southern France or the Alps. The drive from Calais to Chalons-en-Champagne is less than 3 hours. The town is not too far from the motorway south. There is very well priced fuel available. The hotel is located in a very pleasant square. "Nous avons passé un excellent week end prolongé, au calme, dans cette belle maison de campagne pleine de charme. "Fantastic one night stay to break up long journey. Will definitely return. Secure parking, glad of this when car is packed. Dinning is limited as low season but food we had was fantastic as was the wine!!! Great find to relax in a really beautiful house for the evening and staff were so lovely and very attentive. Didn't go into the town as we wanted to relax but even though low season and mid week there were still some restaurant options if we had wanted to venture out. 3.5 hrs from Channel Tunnel only few minutes off the A26"

"This was a small inn which was very nice. Breakfast buffet was very good and room was clean and nice. The area around it was very residential so not a lot of things to do close by. The staff was very nice and always looking to take care of you. Did not eat dinner but restaurant always seemed full so good sign many locals. Good access to lots of attractions by car and well worth the cost. "

Nice House in a nice area

"The house was nice with a large garden and off road parking. It is in a nice quiet area and has lovely views. The owners left the keys in a safe and a friend arrived to check things were ok. She also checked in a week later. The house is about an hour from Eurodisney and is ideal for touring the Champaign region and many historical sites also in easy reach. Electric car charging is about 15 km away but is about half the price of uk charging The swimming pool is at a different location in the village and was well kept and is suitable for young children. A very relaxing time was had by all. "

Poor service

"On arrival we had to try several numbers to get a response We had no hot water in any of the 3 rooms. We called and he returned saying it was sorted and we would have hot water after 3hrs but we still didn’t have any in the morning. We were on 3 motorcycles and had been travelling all day looking forward to a shower. Then in the morning while we had breakfast they went in our rooms moved some of our stuff and cleaned the rooms ready for the next guests before we even checked out. "

"No reception found our rooms and assumed they were ours. Simple accommodation but suited our circumstances excellently. Suzanne becoming a run down town. One very good pizza restaurant and a cafe closed 2130 on a day France was playing in the euros???"
