"We had a lovely stay. The house had everything we needed. Good location with easy parking. The owner was there on arrival and showed us around, which was very helpful! The only thing which wasn't clear on the listing (I also looked on other sites) was that the garden is not fully fenced and with a river at the bottom of the garden, children would need to be supervised at all times. I would recommend this place. The hot tub was great!"

"The place was cute, and the neighbor was very kind, he came out to talk to us when we were trying to figure out parking the first night. The drive isn’t big enough for any car larger than a Mini, but there’s ample space for parking on the curb. The only real downside was the amount of bugs within the property. "Such potential, such a shame;- 6 light bulbs dead or faulty, loose 13amp socket, old cobwebs in every room complete with large spiders, window blinds not latching, dangerously sloppy chair, every surface dusty, dirty glasses, cracked mug chipped crockery, drains started to smell from day 3, no oven gloves nor tea cloths. hearth tile loose, creaky stairs ( no lower side-rail (dont bring children!) for goodness sake spend half a day cleaning the place and get someone in to fix things."

"We have just returned from a lovely weekend at Hillcrest cottage. It is exactly as shown in the listing. We loved the hot tub and sitting around the fire outside on the terrace watching the stars! Although it seems quite isolated it is less than half an hour’s stroll from Dunston and a few minutes further to Metheringham. The cottage and the views were stunning and we would highly recommend!"

"A lovely spot by the duck pond and very peaceful, the lodge was lovely and clean and couldnt of asked for a better stay. We really enjoyed the hot tub, feeding the ducks and an autumnal bbq. M&D were great hosts with good comms. We were reluctant to pay the expensive prices for the entertainment but this didnt spoil our short break as we enjoyed our time in the lodge regardless."
