'Worthy Porpoise' Premium Ground Floor Condo. King Tempur-Pedic, Pool!

Unit 110, which we call “Worthy Porpoise,” is one of the premium beachfront properties on the Oregon coast.

The oceanside suite includes a 42-inch TV mounted against the wall, a queen-sized Murphy bed, and a reclining microfiber love seat, dining room table and a full kitchen stocked to the nines with cooking supplies. If home cooking is on your agenda during this beach vacation, this is the spot for you.

This condo has 8-foot glass sliding doors that open right up onto the edge of the beach. Outside your beachfront doors is a short staircase that is 12 easy steps to the sand. Take complimentary beach chairs onto the grassy patio, where you can watch your children build sandcastles below, and look for the bobbing heads of harbor seals in the shallow waves beyond. Walk north 10 minutes to some natural tide pools. Walk south and wade in the D River, the shortest river in the world.

The master bedroom includes a king bed with a Tempur-Pedic mattress, as well as another 40-inch television and second full bathroom. The Murphy bed in the oceanside suite folds up into the wall, allowing the condo to sleep four while maintaining the spaciousness of the living area.

No. 110 Worthy Porpoise is located in one of the most convenient spots at the Sea Gypsy. There are NO STAIRS to this ground-floor condo, which is about 30 feet from the entrance of the Sea Gypsy’s indoor heated pool and sauna. An outdoor gas grill and vending machine are right outside 110′s back door, too.

Cozy without being cramped
Open living with kitchen/sitting area combined. Murphy bed in living room pulls down to sleep 2, lifts back during day to open up seating area. Great view of the beach. Easy access to room. Fully ADA compliant. Would stay here again.

Quick getaway
The location can’t be beat. You literally open the door to the ocean. The bed was wonderful. Having the door along a main hallway to the beach concerned me due to possible noise at night. But it was not an issue at all. It worked well for our quick getaway.

Great place to stay with a family
The room was nice and clean when we showed up. The beds were comfy. The view was great. Beach access was very close to our room. We were also near the pool in 110 so we never had to wander far. Would recommend for a small family with a toddler or toddlers.

Returning to the Oregon Coast
I'm from Minnesota and my older sister lives in Oregon, south of Portland. Over the last 4+ decades she has enjoyed many enjoyable days along the Oregon coast, and we've often gone together when I'm visiting . Health and mobility issues have sadly kept her away from the shore she loves for the last several years. This trip was an opportunity to return and create some new memories along with our husbands. Although the Worthy Porpoise wasn't advertised as handicapped accessible it's main level position and layout made it an option for both the walker-using and cane-assisted seniors. The one bedroom two bath with a Murphy bed setup worked well for the two couples. The ocean front view with space right out front of our patio door for temporary seating also worked well at allowing the less mobile couple a chance to be outside and watch the action on the beach while my husband and I were able to access the beach only a few steps from the condo. We had most everything we needed but seating was a bit of a concern. There was only seating for two at the dining table and only seating for three in the living area. We were able to bring the large wicker chair from the bedroom into the living area but it involved some maneuvering in and out the two adjacent exterior doors. A couple of folding chairs in the closet for use at the very dining table would be be helpful for groups of three or four. Everything else was totally fine and we enjoyed our stay!

Sea Gypsy stay
We enjoyed our two nights here. We like this area in Lincoln City and Sea Gypsy “Worthy Porpose” is next to the pool and beach access. Due to an unusual heavy snow, we spent most of our time in the condo, which is outfitted with everything we needed. The Murphy bed takes up space in the living room area, which is great for a family needing the extra bedding.

Great Little Place on The Ocean
The room was great. Plenty of room and ammenities for the stay. We really liked being able to slip on our beach shoes and head out the door to search the sands, relax and watch the tides roll in without having to drive. Having the laundry facilities was also great as we had an adventure in Depoe Bay that left is all soaked and needing to do laundry. Had some trouble with the door lock system so we used the bedroom entrance instead, not a big deal. The only down side is the noise. The property is older which we knew, so it was expected. There were young children staying on the floors above us and ran up and down the stairs, landing and upper decks all hours. Other than the two small issues, we enjoyed our stay!

I loved the restaurant Phyllos next door. Great beach access and views. The only hiccup was that the dishwasher was full of dirty dishes when we got there. But I'm sure it was just an oversight. We had a great stay.

No Hot Water; No Refund
We booked this property because of its location and its handicap accessible designation. We knew from the description that there was a tub with shower so not up to ADA standards. As it turned out this is handicapped accessible only in one sense; it has a ground floor entrance (with a tall threshold). The bathroom doors are under 24” wide. A person with a walker has to back down a long hall to use the bedroom bathroom. The ocean view was through a 3’ link fence with a beach access walkway directly in front of the sliding glass windows. All of the above would have been tolerable if the hot water had worked. We arrived at 4PM and when I checked email at around 7 I found one that informed us that the hot water system was down and if we moved out we’d get a refund. Not a viable option at 7PM when unpacked and in our pajamas. The hot water was restored late afternoon the next day. So, although we made the best of our 2 day stay, we had a disappointing accommodation for our 45th wedding anniversary.

Lovely easy beach access
It is in such a great location with easy beach access. It makes staying at the beach a breeze when you can just walk out the door to the sand and back. You never have to leave the area. Such a great time.

Fabulous view
The unit was plenty big for the two of us. We enjoyed each having our own bathroom and the master bedroom separate from living area. We loved being on the ground floor with easy access to the pool and the beach. We walked the beach every day in spite of the cold and damp weather, because we love the ocean. Our view from our unit was wonderful.

The condo was cuter and cleaner than I expected. Having stayed in a few VRBO's, this is a nice one for the price. The only downside is that sound really carries around the hotel! Both nights I woke up to people talking, not being rowdy or anything, just talking. And I am not a light sleeper, but it sounded like they were in my room. Thank goodness we were there on a slow weekend in Feb. I can't imagine how noisy it would be in the summer!

We had a great time at the Worthy Porpoise at Sea Gypsy. Room was as described. Not a fancy place but perfectly acceptable. Great location and the bed was memory foam, super comfortable! Only complaint was that the groundskeeper was washing windows and sprayed down our sliding glass door and the room started to flood. The door seal must be faulty. I emailed management right away and was told someone would come help us clean up. However, someone simply showed up at the door and handed me a stack of towels and left. So I was crawling around on my hands and knees “mopping” up a bunch of water....on vacation....in a room I paid for. Seemed a little backwards. Management was apologetic, but that doesn’t change the fact that I cleaned up the mess myself. Would still consider coming back in the future, hoping for no water mishaps.

My wife, kids and I had a great time staying in the worthy porpise! It have amazing views, easy access to the beach and plenty of room for 2 kids to play and run around! They were also very helpful when we need another key for the pool! Overall it was a great experience and will be one of the first place we try to book next year! Thank you!

Place was wonderful! Only problem was the wifi. Never could get it to work. Garbage wasn't empty when I got there, but everything else was spotless!
