The check in process was challenging. The staff had some trouble finding the reservation, then claimed it was a higher price. After showing them my confirmation, they honored the reserved price but calculated the exchange to soles higher than market, higher than other accommodations, and higher than what local currency exchanges post. The exchange was also nowhere posted. Communication was also a challenge. I was able to travel through Peru with my level of Spanish. Here, it was unclear whether they understood but didn't care or just didn't understand. We didn't stay through the night because had a departure the same night. We received a call around 1230p while we were resting in the room that our stay was over. I explained we had just checked in that morning for 1 night to which they realized and acknowledged their mistake. The room/hotel is clean but artificially fragranced, which can be irritating to sensitive persons. Our window opened to the garage below, which was extremely noisy from hotel cleaning staff. The water in the shower took a a long time to get hot then was scalding. It took some time to learn but was manageable and dependably hot. We weren't able to take advantage of the breakfast since we didn't stay through the night and the staff didn't allow us to try the breakfast the same day.
