quiet country living close to bourbon distilleries. Definitely need a car to get to towns for dining etc.
Home was like staying at Grandma house - charming.
Very well stocked with everything you can think of.
We enjoyed nighly fires around the fire pit in the backyard - just lovely.
Take a step back into the 1940s in this delightful cottage with appropriately selected modern conveniences. Enjoy the rural environment while being just moments from sevetal of the most popular distilleries.
Bourbon trail was awesome and the house was as advertised.

Oh, this was just what we needed. The farm was the perfect decompression location. We could hear cows, geese - the deer were all over the backyard. The area was quiet. The cottage was adorable. I felt like I was at my grandma's house - so comforting. If you need a place to go away from the city, this is where you need to go. We were able to chat with the host; she was great.
A friend and I brought our daughters to Kentucky for a long weekend of fun. She came in from Michigan and we came from NC. It was the perfect spot to meet.
Thank you!
Came in town for an event and had a wonderful stay. The property made you feel like you were at home. It was clean and quite comfortable. Loved the quiet surroundings. We sat a lot either on the back porch watching the cows or sitting out on their front porch enjoying the cool weather. If you are coming to this area, and looking for a relaxing, peaceful get away, I would highly recommend this property. It was excellent and I hope to stay there again on my next visit to KY.
Definitely a good place to wind down. Woke up on the second morning to several cows and a few calf’s at the fence. I was so excited, but know to respect their space. It woke up early every morning just to see if they were there. Sat on the porch every evening and enjoyed the sounds of farm life in the distance.
Thank You!
Don't let the twisty-turny roads stop you from taking advantage of this property. It's a beautiful ride to approach a beautiful place.
My daughter and I had a wonderful Mothers Day weekend in KY, and were SO pleased to have this country retreat. The host thought of everything, including bug spray so we could sit on the back porch, overlooking the pasture, and have a restful, peaceful time. We'll definitely come back.
This isn't a great home - it's a country cabin in a great place. It's as far from "city" as you can get and still be in the middle of horse and bourbon country. The neighborhood is quiet, beautiful and yet close enough to all the tourist amenities. The road in is a small adventure. Sit on the porch. Watch the critters - we saw more deer and turkeys than cows and horses. Drink some bourbon. Smile. Skip dinner at Tony's and make reservations at The Stave, instead. We never met our host but she is highly responsive if you have questions or need something. A+!
The location was convenient to town, wineries, and distilleries, although off the beaten path. The charming house allowed for relaxation in a quiet setting surrounded by fields of cows and deer grazing each night. The host was responsive if contacted. We had all of the comforts of home and found it very relaxing.
The house has old farmhouse feel, like a trip back in time to Grandma's. Well furnished with everything a couple or small family needs for a lengthy stay. Beautiful rolling hills view from covered back deck and the only sound is cattle in the distance. Perfect getaway in center of bourbon country.
This property is an amazing vintage farmhouse cottage set in a farming community with quick access to distilleries and horse farms. Deer grazed in the yard every night. The drive to the property is picturesque. The house was furnished with country antiques and had all the kitchen and bath amenities you would need. My sister and I loved it!
Love this beautiful quaint cottage. It was perfect as usual. We had a blast. Loved sitting on the back porch and watching the deer in the evenings and early mornings. It brings a sense of peace to be there. So excited that this property was available again this year. I would highly recommend!
This house was very clean and put together perfectly. They had everything you would want for a weekend stay. The host was very good at communicating everything with us.
This property is a must stay, for anyone looking for privacy and peace. There would be no need to bring anything but clothes and food, the home is so well stocked and beautifully kept. Do yourself a favor and try it, you will not be dissapointed. Darlene is the top 10 host, #1 on my list.
This little farmhouse was a great place to get away for a long weekend. Short drive to many different distilleries and downtown Frankfort. Nice outdoor areas to relax and watch the deer wander pass.
Peaceful cottage in the heart of bourbon and horse country
The house is more charming and spacious than the pictures convey. We had our morning coffee on the covered back porch while enjoying the sunrise. We spent our evenings on the covered front porch watching does and spotted fawns ramble about while we waited for the sunset. The house is only 2.4 miles from Woodford Distillery, 3.7 from Castle & Key, 5.7 miles from Godolphin Horse Farm (birthplace of Cody's Wish) and 11 miles from both Buffalo Trace Distillery and Wallace Station. The house's location made it easy to stop between tours to rest and grab a snack. We never felt hurried to get from place to place and looked forward to coming back each evening. If you're a Woodford fan, this is the house for you.
