"Very detailed checkin instructions over email. On day of arrival, the hotel also left a letter at the front door as how to get access into the hotel. They also provide a free map with highlighted routes from hotel to the main square in Siena via walking (about 15 minutes). Highly recommended for family stay in Siena."

"I had the best experience here. I had come here with a group 22 years ago at age 13. I had wanted to relive and reminisce being at the castle and my experience was just as it was 22 years later at age 35!! I adored the staff and their attention and care to me as a solo traveling female. I felt like they became more than staff during my time, but friends. "Our hosts Sylvia and Franco were extremely helpful prior to our stay as well as during. They provided maps for hiking and for interesting villages to see in the area! The hotel is in a very small area but accessible to a wide area. Restaurant across road is highly recommended. The hotel has a beautiful pool, well maintained and an area for table tennis or relaxing. Many BBQ’s are available for use."

"Gorgeous place, pool and area around it is very beautiful! Very quiet area, staff was wonderful, very helpful and friendly. Very small TV in room, no internet inside apartment, had to go to the courtyard to get connection. No couch, two arm chairs and dining room table to sit at. Furniture wise - not all all comfortable, beds not very comfortable as well. "

"Full-size, one bedroom apartment in a modern building close to the train station. It’s next to the railroad tracks, but only 2-3 trains came through at night – after the first night we didn’t notice them (stayed there 4 nights). Nice, helpful manager. "

"We arrived just before dark and the fellow at reception said that he was told that we had cancelled our reservation but LUCKILY for us that the room was still available. He was abit rough around the edges but he did fit the medieval era look. The location in Chianti was great close to many attractions to see. Lots of mosquitos in the area but the sights made up for any bites we received."

"Where to begin? For starters this property is even more beautiful in person than in the incredible photos shown here. It is very clean. The kitchen is fully equipped. Many people had left helpful cooking ingredients. The location is perfect. We were right across the street from a multi-generational, family owned & operated pastry/coffee shop. The women who run it are lovely, and the food/coffee was so yummy we went there every day of our weeklong stay. We easily walked to delicious restaurants,...

"We have travelled extensively through Europe for the past 2 years and the Villa del Sole has to be one of the best and amazing hotel we have ever stayed in. Staff was sooooooo friendly and helpful. Even showed us the easiest and best way to get to the Piazza del Campo without going up and down the hills, lol. Breakfast was great, good selection. The best, mind blowing view of Siena you will find. We want to thank everyone for the friendly and generous service that was offered. We are definitely coming back! "

We enjoyed our stay very much.

"We had an excellent 4-night stay at Hotel Italia. We were particularly impressed by the friendliness, helpfulness, efficiency of the staff - desk, breakfast room, cleaning service. Our room was clean and well-kept. All the facilities worked well: shower temperature and pressure, heating, lights, tea kettle, refrigerator. The beds were standard European firmness. The bedding was cozy. Breakfast was a delicious spread, with lots to choose from. The Hotel is just a few minutes walk from the train station, and an easy walk to the historic district. We highly recommend Hotel Italia."
