The Avoca Handcrafts shop is half a mile from the cottage with a great variety of clothes, handcrafts, books, cds and kitchenware. Kylemore Abbey is less than ten minutes drive with beautiful landscaped gardens, and pretty walks around the abbey and its lakes. Killary Harbour and Leenane is a little further towards Westport. You can always take the Sky Road Drive out of Clifden, with its breathtaking views across to Slyne Head, Ballyconeely and Errislannon. Inishbofin is a day trip and reachable by a ferry that leaves Cleggan every morning and evening - give yourself 20 minutes to get there as the roads can be busy during the summer.
