"this was our second lenghty stay at the Majoren. August 2023 was the first. As was the case last August, we again enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It's a nice boutique hotel very close to the train station and central square as well as the university. The station (trains and buses) is a 10 minute walk away. The hotel staff are so nice and helpful. I want to compliment Tilda, the rest of the front desk staff, Maria and the other breakfast/dinner staff, Silva, one of the housekeeper's and the rest of the housekeeping staff. Our room again faced the train station but we didn't hear the trains as much this time. the hotel provides breakfast and dinner. Both were very good and very fresh. Although fried foods are a large part of Swedish dinner, we always found enough on the dinner menu. Each night there is one main entree but always several different salads, soup, and delicious bread. the hotel has 2 buildings. Our preference is to stay in the main building. We've now stayed a total of 16 days and we've enjoyed both of our stays. We would stay again at Majoren without hesitation. "

"We booked a couple of nights at this property. There are two buildings, the main one where the reception is located and another building close by where we stayed the first night. As we arrived on a Friday evening, we had a room on the first floor of the annex which has a bar under it that closes at 2am so we could not sleep until then. We found out that it only closes that late on Fridays and Saturdays so we asked to be moved for the second night. If you stay on all other nights, Sunday to Tue is closed and on the other nights it closes at 11pm so not a huge issue. The hotel needs a bit of a refurb as the rooms are dated and the windows should at least be replaced with double glazing to help with the noise. There is a free car park close by and the town is walking distance. "

"A lot of dust under the beds but otherwise the rooms in the SPA building are quite fresh. You have to pay extra if you want to try billiards or some other activity and this is very unusual in similar hotels according to our experience."

"we stayed Kurort six times this summer(each stay one to four nights). The hotel is situated in a quiet area surrounded by natural beauty and the building still maintains beautiful art nouveau and art deco style interior. Generally speaking, the rooms were nice and comfortable but some rooms were not as comfortable with very small bathroom. Over all, our experiences were very positive and we will definitely go back."
