"Wonderful property. In Abruzzo seeking family roots. House is very spacious, clean and well maintained. Host kept in touch prior to arrival to make sure our needs were met and we would be able to locate the house. Off the beaten path, but nothing extreme. The picture on VRBO shows what looks like a bare lawn. Hardly. Beautiful landscaping on a hillside. Plenty of shade. Great views from the main living area look southeast to a massive mountain fort, adjacent valley and the Adriatic Sea in the distance. Inside is spacious with comfortable beds and a fully equipped kitchen. Three baths with showers. AC only in the master bedroom, but hardly needed. Main room has large windows with big openings allowing the mountain air in. Three of four bedrooms had windows for fresh air. Sheep and cattle on nearby property; nice charm, no aromas. Washer available; no dryer, but drying rack and clothes pins provided. Owners wife met us at arrival. Lovely lady did her best to translate for us Americans. Very responsive to questions. Highly recommend this property. Will stay here again if we ever return to Italy."

"Very nicely restored palazzo, with an interesting mix of new and well preserved old facilities. Our room was large and comfortable. The bath tub/shower was high and a bit difficult to get in and out of—badly needs a grab bar for safe access. Breakfast was ample and diverse enough to accommodate all tastes. Staff very accommodating. Narrow streets, many of which were further limited by ongoing construction projects, made parking virtually impossible and each time we took the car for visits to the surrounding areas, it became an adventure in navigation. The hotel valet parked the car and returned it when requested. That worked well—all our explorations in the ancient city itself were on foot. The early June weather was perfect—but would not have been nice in the rain. All in all, a great central location, excellent staff, nice room. Make sure you rent a small car! With GPS!"

"Our hostess was gracious and ready for us, meeting us outside as we arrived. In her limited English, she was attentive and friendly. The facility has seen better days and needs maintenance. Everything was clean and tidy, but like the light fixtures that needed new bulbs, the place was in need of small repairs. "
