"When organising a visit to ChristChurch which involved an early international flight home, I considered how best to manage my last night. While my family were willing to drive me in the early morning, I noticed Lylo were nearby offering "capsule rooms". Knowing it would be for a few hours overnight, I chose to satisfy my curiosity and try it out. Despite a bit of trepidation, I found the room met my needs perfectly. Even my brother, who was a little skeptical, was impressed with the quality...

"We picked this hostel because of the quirkiness of it heing based in an old jail and we were not disappointed. They really make the most of it by having a couple of old rooms set up as old cells and information boards. There are a few different social spaces which was nice and better than most of the other hostels we have stayed in in Aotearoa. It would be easy to find privacy for a phone call for instance. The thick walls mean nothing can be heard from other rooms and everyone was respectful of...

"The location is just next to the bus terminus and also walkable to the shopping area. It is great for traveller to go near or far"

"Stayed 2nights in private double. Late check in email stated room would be unlocked - it wasn't. Nobody answered the phone. We had to stretch in the window to unlock the door. The room stank. Really horrible old damp smell. Next day we were locked out of our room with our belongings inside "pending payment" - payment had been taken online already. Took 5 phone calls to get keys to our room sorted."

"Do not book this property, I booked and paid for two nights at this place on Christmas day and when I arrived it's was deserted and abandoned with not a single person onsite or anywhere. I have not been able to reach the owners of the hotel since then and it took me two hours on the phone to try and organise a refund,, there are uses needles everywhere and human leaves on the ground near the entrance and it's smells of curry. Worst experience of my life."
