An authentic cedar log cabin with mountain and golf course views! Golf, ski or simply relax.

* 18 miles West of Leavenworth at Kahler Glen Golf Course. Quiet location. Leavenworth is 20 - 30 minute drive away.
* 2 miles from stunning Lake Wenatchee, known for its family-friendly beach and swimming.
* Cross country skiing, snow shoeing and sledding outside our back door.
* 25 - 30 minute drive from Stevens Pass for downhill skiing.

The cabin "Big Ponderosa" is nestled mountainside among large ponderosa pine trees and overlooks the golf course. The interior has unique arched doorways and large exposed beams. This is a great place to enjoy peaceful views, family-time and nature.

TWO LEVELS FOR PRIVACY AND COMFORT:

In addition to a beautiful setting, we offer more space for your family to spread out. Local county regulations limit our occupancy to 6 people, including children.

The 1500 sq ft main floor consists of 3 bedrooms (queen / queen / twins), 2 bathrooms, spacious living room, gas fireplace, dining room, kitchen and deck.

The 500 sq ft downstairs area consists of a rec room, 1 bathroom, queen bed with privacy curtains, electric fireplace and outdoor patio. (This lower level area is excluded from long-term 30+ days leasing and would be locked off.)

We have a selection of board games, foosball table, wireless Internet, Smart TV's, DVDs, Disney+ for entertainment.

The house is equipped with central air conditioning and has a main floor washer and dryer.

THE KITCHEN:

Our kitchen is well stocked and great for entertaining with granite counter tops and convenient breakfast bar area. There is a separate spacious dining room.

VIEWS:

The outdoor deck and garden area is a guest favorite. It has a gas grill. Outdoor furniture and firepit table amenities are provided in the warmer summer months through Octoberfest.

PARKING:

You'll park inside the 2-car garage. A 3rd car can park in the space directly in front of the garage. (Sorry, no space for RVs or off-site parking.)

We have a shared driveway with neighbors. The homes are well spaced apart and are separated by two detached garages. There is an EV charger / level 2 in the garage for electric vehicles. The driveway is not suitable for extra wide dually vehicles.

PEAK SEASON TIP:

Consider alternate travel days or 3 nights to lessen your drive times on Fridays and Sundays.

WINTER RESERVATIONS: (November 1 through March 31)

Ideal for skiers and snow adventurers! Are you dreaming of a cozy log cabin in a winter wonderland? Look no further. Cross-country ski trails, snow shoe trails and snow play are available outside our back door.

DECEMBER:

The cabin is decorated for Christmas in December. Leavenworth is known for its Christmas lighting festival.

NAVIGATING THE SNOW:

The practical side of snow fun requires that you be snow adventurous, experienced and comfortable at navigating snow conditions. If you are from out of state and not familiar with snow, you will likely find this location very challenging.

ALL winter reservations REQUIRE all-wheel drive vehicles (4x4, SUV, Crossover, Subaru etc.) and traction tires for access. Due to the driveway steep grade, this is required.

The community roads, driveway and walkway is plowed regularly. Drivers should expect compact snow and ice. When it snows, it can take some time for crews to get to us. Keep in mind they must clear community roadways first. This means guests should be somewhat self-sufficient and utilize the snow removal equipment we have as needed. There are shovels and a snow blower in the garage for use.

The house is located on the upper level of the community mountain roadway, which means roadways are steep but we have great views.

LONG TERM LEASING:

The 1500 sq ft main floor of this beautiful log home is available for mid-term 30 day + rental. This is a great location for reverse snowbirds.

• There is no cable TV. We have Smart TV's with apps and wireless internet.

• The outdoor propane firepit table is available in summer season, weather permitting through Oktoberfest only.

• For the security of the property, external security cameras monitor/record (audio/video) the driveway and front entrance point.

• If a long term rental (30 days or more) a lease is required.

• Please consider purchasing travel insurance to protect your trip in case of changes to your travel plans, illness, smoke/snow or bad weather, natural disaster outside of our cancellation window.

Early Christmas Trip
Once in a while, you find a place That’s better than expected, and this is one of those. Our entire family thoroughly enjoyed this place! The only problem was we should have stayed longer. The driveway is exciting both arriving and departing. Luckily, their HOA plows it after snowstorms!

Fun at Kahler Glen
This is the second year we’ve stayed at this property. The kitchen is well stocked, beds are comfortable and house is clean. We had a fun round on the golf course and a fabulous dinner at the nearby Wildflour restaurant. Hoping to be back again next fall!

Very nice cabin with lots of amenities
My family and I loved staying here. The cabin is laid out very well for families with lots of play space for kids (and toys). There were loads of amenities like gas grill, fire pit, game room, and 2 fireplaces. The host was super responsive and provided clear entry directions. We'll stay here again.

Family get together
Our family of 8 adults and 6 children really enjoyed our 4 days at Kahler Glen. We rented several units for the different families and gathered for dinner at Big Ponderosa. Beauitlful weather, lake time each day, bike riding, hiking...something for each family to enjoy, thank you!

Cozy Christmas!
We had a lovely stay over the Christmas holiday! House was great for our size (4 adults and 2 teens). The house was decorated for Christmas and the host even left us a gift which was very sweet and thoughtful. Upstairs and downstairs living rooms was awesome for having multiple family activities. All in all a great house!

Great Place to unwind after a long day of work
We came to Lake Wenatchee to work on docks. It is hard work and our crew is exhausted when they head back to the house. This place was relaxing, clean and a perfect place to prepare our dinner and wind down.

Awesome house for all ages!
The home is beautiful, well kept, and well stocked. We loved our stay! The driveway is no joke. Very steep. The only complaints we had, although they aren't really "complaints" but things to be aware of are: kitchen knives are not sharp and the fire alarms are VERY sensitive. We had to open the house up to cook breakfast.

Wonderful Holiday Weekend!
We stayed at the house with our daughter and another family with their children for the Thanksgiving weekend. The house was absolutely perfect. It was decorated for Christmas, which definitely added to the festive feeling of the weekend. It was so cozy, clean, and comfortable! There were a number of toys, puzzles, and games for the kids to play with. The linens and towels were all in good shape. Even the bathroom floors were heated! We cooked Thanksgiving dinner there, and before our trip, I was slightly concerned that we might not have everything we need to pull off such a large scale dinner. I was happily wrong! The kitchen was better stocked than most other VRBO's I've stayed in. It had everything we could dream up....and then several tools that we didn't even need. I was truly impressed with it. Overall a wonderful weekend was had by all. Thank you so much for your hospitality!

Confortable but simple
The house driveway is a huge deal - we were scared to see no guard rails or signage indicating the house location and the road that leads to the house also does not have signages. The furniture is simple and a little dated and they did not have outside furniture which did not make much sense to us since the balcony is quite large. The house has a really nice view of the golf course and the sun exposure is just right. The water heater is not designed for multiple bathroom uses - we took a couple of cold showers to to the lack of hot water volume. Our stay was nice - the area was quite empty. Most of the homes were closed which it felt strange but it did not bother us. The distance to the city and to the grocery stores were a big deal for us - the house is 45 minutes from the closest supermarket. I would rate a seven out of ten - specially because of the lack of close amenities.

Wonderful stay
We had a great stay at the cabin on the golf course. It was a lovely home that was well set up for our 2 families with young children. The kitchen was well stocked. The quiet golf course community was nice for the kids to walk/bike around (limited traffic). Very close to Lake Wenatchee and not too far of a drive from Leavenworth. Would stay again!

My family thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing visit to the big ponderosa. Close to the lake and find serenity on the hidden lake trail. This place has all the comforts of home. Great spot for our pac nw trip.

Great winter get away
The house is amazing very large. Our teens loved having the downstairs area. Downstairs had 2 beds, bathroom, TV, bedroom, hide a bed, couch, games. Fridge and sink. It was perfect for them to play their video games. Perfect for us as we couldn't hear them. The house is a beautiful log house. Very clean we had everything we needed. Kitchen stocked great. The heated floors and gas fire place was wonderful. The views were amazing. The kahler glenn golf and ski resort is great. There is the snow park right by the house with sledding hills. Ice skating and if you are into snow shoeing and skiing they have paths throughout the development. We went snow mobiling and on a horse sleigh ride thru the snow. It was very close to the house a 10 minute drive. It was called Leavenworth snow mobiling and sleigh rides The roads were clear and everything was accessible. However the owner is right their driveway is so steep that you have to have a 4x4 or all wheel drive and SNOW TIRES. The pictures don't show the incline and it is compact ice and snow. If you come in the winter you should definitely have both. Or you won't get back up the driveway. Michelle was wonderful I texted her a few times and she got right back to me within seconds. Great host. Just a wonder place to stay. 4 bedrooms. Good for large family. Thank you Michelle for letting us stay in your winter paradise. Cynthia
