Panoramic Country Views ~ Wildlife, Butterflies & Birds ~ Star-gazing ~ Hiking

Panoramic views surround Ash Creek Hideaway, this perfect escape. Relax in the peaceful Hill Country at our three-bedroom, two-bath home just a couple miles north of Leakey. Enjoy sitting and visiting on the front porch lined in 10 comfortable chairs and rockers, in the back yard watching the wildlife, or after dark star gazing.

Experience country family living on three acres covered with large shade trees that create a pleasant area for outdoor picnics, barbecues, and entertainment. A seasonal creek and springs are inviting to the wildlife. The whitetail deer, and an occasional axis, feed daily. Birds, jack rabbits, and squirrels frequent the feeders and provide hours of enjoyment and relaxation. Seasonal Hummingbirds, Purple Martins, and butterflies passing through can create hours of watching and entertainment. It’s not unusual for the raccoons and armadillos to be seen.

The house has sleeping accommodations for 12 people and linens are provided for the main beds. Enjoy the fresh air blowing through the open windows in the spring or the fireplace on a cool winter night. Central heat and air-conditioning, a fully equipped, newly remodeled kitchen, includes dishes, a dishwasher, and washer and dryer are a few of the amenities. Satellite television on the large Smart TV is included along with internet and a landline telephone.

The large, fenced yard is a nice place for your kids and outdoor pets to enjoy your travels too.

Access to the Frio River is available at river crossings in town, on the Rio Frio Road, Utopia Road, and the road to Vanderpool, several pay locations, and at Garner State Park. Whether a trip to the Frio River, some hiking at Lost Maples State Park, a weekend get-away to the country, a week of bird watching, or a quiet romantic time is what you are looking for, we hope you and your family enjoy your stay at Ash Creek Hideaway!

Ash Creek Hideaway was super nice. Comfy beds, cold AC, big living and dining. Lots of beds. it's nestled a Mike is the main road on a very quiet acreage in the hill country. Plenty of outside seating on the porch and around the fire pit. In the morning there is a family of deer that roam the back area and hummingbirds buzz the front porch in the afternoon. Great experience, I highly recommend this house.

Yearly Frio Trip
This is our second time staying at Ash Creek Hideaway and it did not disappoint. The house was very clean and cozy. We loved playing games in the evenings at the large kitchen table. The teenagers had fun playing corn hole and ping pong in the beautiful yard. We enjoyed watching all the deer and hummingbirds. The house is in a perfect location. A short drive to town. We spent our days at Garner and Neals swimming and floating in the river. The water was up this year! It was a perfect week! Wendy was an awesome host!! She quickly responded to any questions we had. We can't wait to come back and stay again. See you next year!

Relaxing, clean, and comfortable getaway!
The House was clean, comfortable, well-stocked, and private, but not too isolated. The hummingbirds were our constant companions on the front porch. The morning and evening visits from deer and rabbits were so enjoyable. The stars in the evening while sitting at the fire pit were beautiful. The house had everything we could possibly need. It was private, but still close to swimming, dining, and drives through the hills. The host was responsive and always just a phone call away! She was genuinely concerned about our comfort. I would love to make this an annual tradition!!

Amazing property
The house was much larger than expected. the living room was great for our family gathering. Dining room and kitchen were clean and welcoming. The bedrooms were made and comfortable. This was a very enjoyable stay. The yard was awesome for the dogs to run around and look at the deer. One of the best rentals I’ve stayed at. Too many good things to say in one post! Will definitely stay again.

Family Vacay
This was the perfect place for our combined family getaway. It was a comfortable home in a beautiful setting. It was quiet and serene, close to the river and had good accessibility for my elderly father. We absolutely loved the abundant wildlife, especially the hummingbirds! Wendy was amazing…very communicative, responsive and friendly. She even came to replace the recliner that was broken, which was an essential item for my dad!! The whole family, even the pups, had an incredibly memorable stay.

Country Living Minutes from Town
Ash Creek Hideaway is a country cabin with classic southern front porch appeal and amazing wildlife but just minutes from Leaky with town convenience. The house is cute with three bedrooms, a cozy living area, a family sized table, and a well stocked kitchen. Situated just off 336, it a great entry point for any of the Sister rides. Or just sit on the porch or around the fire pit and enjoy the hummingbirds, deer, turkey, bird and squirrels. Highly recommend!

Cozy, clean home away from home
I booked Ash Creek Hideaway primarily because of its location between Garner State Park and Lost Maples, as well as that it is pet friendly with a large, fully fenced-in yard. It was completely as described in the listing, very comfortable and cozy. The beds are comfy, lots of extra pillows and blankets. There is plenty of space for relaxing at the dining room table, in the living room, on the large front porch, or at the fire pit area outside. Our dogs loved the huge yard and we loved that we didn’t have to worry about them getting out of the well constructed fence. We had so much fun watching the wide variety of birds and other animals who visited. This place is stocked with many bird feeders (18 hummingbird feeders and lots of others!) as well as a deer feeder behind the house. We saw 5 doe and 2 buck white-tailed deer, 5 wild turkeys, and several ducks visiting the feeder. Wendy, the owner, is very easy to communicate with and offered several suggestions for things to do with our kids. She is a wonderful host!
