"We enjoy visiting this area in the late part of autumn. The rain or drizzle or cool days are offset by a wonderful wood-burning fireplace at night. You will enjoy the hospitality of your hosts as you cuddle inside a very beautiful home. We will return again."

We had to cut our stay short because of an emergency operation that was required for me and so unfortunately we were unable to enjoy the property or local area fully. The host was very attentive to this and I found her responsive overall. Good features were the pool and surrounding area, bathrooms, size of bedrooms and open plan lounge area. "A lovely holiday. The gite has a beautiful garden to sit in and is equipped to a very good standard.A warm welcome from René and Nicole on our arrival. We came to see the Châteaux of the Loire and there were many located very close to the gite. We didn't realise from the description that the bathroom was on a different floor to the bedrooms. This wasn't a problem for us, but could have been for others."

"Nous avons passé un bon séjour à Bourgueil, dans ce logement très mignon et atypique. Cependant nous n'avons pas vu la personne qui gérait le logement comme c'était prévu... C'est un logement très bien équipé mais le descriptif ne correspond pas tout à fait. Il est noté qu'il y a un bain à remous mais nous n'avons pas vu cet équipement ???"

"On the photos the hotel with its swimming pool looked good to me but the pool was half empty and closed moreover I found my room not very clean especially the bathroom."

"The cottage itself is well equipped with quality furnishings and equipment. Put together thoughtfully and stylishly by the charming owners. Unfortunately there is no green outdoor space as it's built on the gravel driveway entrance to the owners house, close to the local urban road and a main road. We went into the owners garden once to use their pool and were warmly welcomed. Overall this is a fabulous option for overnight stays or if you plan to be out driving every day. Perhaps less so if...

"I absolutely loved this hotel . From the moment we checked in with the friendliest of welcomes the staff were fantastic. We parked opposite the hotel . The room was gorgeous with a view overlooking the loire. It was a superior double and was simply fantastic for the price we paid. A short stroll along the river front takes you to bars and retaurants. I would not hesitate to stay here again. . The bar prices were very reasonable too. We will definately come here again"

"This place is impeccable. In spite of it being in an historic building it has been lovingly maintained. Our triple room had an enormous bedroom with twin sinks. The beds were in separate rooms and there were original paintings on the walls. Breakfast was very good. Stay there if you’re in the area."

Perfect stay at Hotel Rive Sud

"Our stay at the hotel was perfect from start to finish. The owners are super friendly and offered plenty of advice about the surrounding area, and tips on recommended places to visit. The attention to detail on the decor of the whole property gives a truly comforting & relaxed feel. The hotel is in a great location within a short 5-10 minute walk in to Chinon centre. I would highly recommend this property."
